A hold on being haute

HauteFace

Utterly frustrated in the lack of shade-appropriate foundations for ladies with dark skin, former recording big shot Cassandra Mills set out to build a beauty line to cater to all skin types and tones. The outcome, Haute Face, Mills own high-end make-up line for ethnic consumers … beauty that suits all. “African American women in particular do a lot of mixing with their colours to get one colour,” states Mills. “I couldn’t find a high quality foundation, I was mixing my own. I looked up and I just realized that this is the 21st century, and it shouldn’t be this way. Our goal when we created this brand was to eliminate that process.”

The color palette ($69) is a must for anyone needing a makeover in their own beauty department. Included are: shadows, lip tints, blush, foundation, concealer, and a powder. The all-encompassing palette is available in seven shades to suit a number of ranges. What’s especially handy is the online tool to determine what shading suits your own skin. Mills also employs a very diverse team of professionals within Haute Face. She adds, “The company reflects the ethnic diversity that represents today’s American population.”
