Balenciaga Paris Doesn't Need an Introduction
By Samantha
Balenciaga Paris, the latest fragrance from the world renown design house, epitomizes a chic French lifestyle, full of simplicity and sophistication. After 12 years, Nicholas Ghesquiere, felt it was the right time to introduce the fragrance, and perfumier Olivier Polge was called on to make something true to the Balenciaga name.
Polge created a scent full of mystery that fills your head with fantastical nostalgic moments and brings you into springtime with a fresh awakening and newly gained light. One of the most beautiful things about the fragrance lies in the bottle, which is blown glass, and truly collector worthy. The bottle features angles and curves as its embellishments, and the top is simply stunning. The real epitome of Parisian chic, this full embodiment of this scent draws you in and lets you out sitting in an artsy cafe in St. Germain du Pres.
The floral scent is cut with violet and pepper, and leaves the wearer feeling as though she is basking in the sunlight with a mild breeze blowing through her hair. Balenciaga Paris is for those that don’t desire to be elegant, as they already know that they are. Just like Charlotte Gainsbourg, the image of Balenciaga Paris, the perfume is a scent that stands alone, uplifting the spirit and defining a luxurious lifestyle that oozes glamour.
Balenciaga Paris is available at fine retail stores nationwide, including Bergdorf Goodman. It is available in 1.7 or 2.5 ounces and retails for $95 and $130, respectively.

Not only are the colors beautiful and fitting for each of the star-studded affairs, the meaning behind each design and hue is truly leading-lady worthy. The Look Du Jour: Keri Hilson, Grammys 2010
By Jessica
Best New Artist nominee Keri Hilson glowed on the red carpet last night at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards in a stunning pale pink-hued Dolce & Gabbana number. However, we were more captivated by her gorgeous visage.
For this look, celebrity make-up artist Ashunta Sheriff was inspired by the screen sirens of the ‘50s and developed a look that emphasized Keri’s hazel eyes while injecting some panache and edge. Keri’s flawless complexion was enhanced by Smashbox Photo Finish primer with COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Compact Foundation. The bronze glow was achieved by using COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Minerals Bronzer in Light Bronze and Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color in Strawberry Cream on the cheeks for the subtle flushed radiance.
As for those smoldering eyes, Ashunta chose a striking rich purple shade from Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Sweet Plum on the lids and lower lashes and COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Purple Plume to intensify the colour. She later topped it off with COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume Mascara in Black and Ja’Maal Busters Lash Line for that wee bit of drama.
She also chose to break the smoky-eyes-nude-lips rule with Mary Kay Lip Liner in Berry along with Covergirl Queen Collection Lip Gloss in Pearled Peach which left Keri looking absolutely dazzling. -Dyuti Mishra

Beyoncé ‘Heats’ Up NYC for Fragrance Launch
By Jessica
International pop sensation, Beyoncé, conquers every field she steps her Christian Louboutin stiletto in. Music? She’s a seven-time Grammy award winner who was recently named Billboard’s Woman of the Year. Fashion? Her House of Dereon line has quickly become a force in the Fashion industry. Film? Beyonce garnered two Golden Globes nominations for Dreamgirls and scored a box-office hit with Obsessed. Now, the multi-talented diva has set her sights on the beauty industry with her first-ever fragrance, entitled “Heat.”
Licensed by Coty, Beyoncé’s premiere fragrance embodies her unbridled passion and alluring sexuality. A floral, fruity and wooden scent, ‘Heat’ is a captivating blend of rare, sensual flowers. The fragrance contains top notes of red vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli and blush peach, heart notes of honeysuckle nectar, almond macaroon and crème de musk as well as base notes of giant sequoia milkwood, tonka bean and amber.
The beautiful songstress had this to say about her first
fragrance: “My fragrance is a unique expression of a women’s powerful sensuality. The scent thrills and enthralls, drawing you in. At the same time, it is elegant and feminine with an air of mystery. I created this fragrance for self-assured women everywhere, for women who are not afraid to desire and be desired.”
To kick off the launch of ‘Heat,’ Beyoncé will illuminate Union Square on February 2nd with a fiery red light and smoky fog, giving the city an aura that matches her irresistible appeal.

The new way to brand, Chanel Style
By Zoe
Okay girls, we love our personalized, individualized cell phones. We adore the fact that we could customize laptops to colors that match our outfits. Skin by Chanel is taking this idea one step further. Way further.
It’s the way to show the world that you use the best the crème de la crème of beauty products. And what better way than to have it imprinted on your forehead.
Yes, your forehead.
Ryan McSorley, who developed the Skin by Chanel Kit, has this to say about beauty branded skin: “The packaging is manufactured in Corian, giving a smooth finish, and the organic and pebble like form is intended to reflect our obsession with perfection.”
Whatever his reasoning, the kit includes a cleanser, toner and moisturiser. What’s different is there’s a headband in the kit to be tied around the head and worn while sleeping. The headband is made of silicone with a ‘Chanel logo’ on the underside. The result is an imprint that remains on your skin for a few hours after you wake up.
And while you will most definitely look like a walking billboard, especially if you already sport a logo on your bag, wallet or clothes, this will show the world that you’re staying “ahead” of the world with oh-so-pretty Chanel approved skin.
