Best New Artist nominee Keri Hilson glowed on the red carpet last night at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards in a stunning pale pink-hued Dolce & Gabbana number. However, we were more captivated by her gorgeous visage.
For this look, celebrity make-up artist Ashunta Sheriff was inspired by the screen sirens of the ‘50s and developed a look that emphasized Keri’s hazel eyes while injecting some panache and edge. Keri’s flawless complexion was enhanced by Smashbox Photo Finish primer with COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Compact Foundation. The bronze glow was achieved by using COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Minerals Bronzer in Light Bronze and Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color in Strawberry Cream on the cheeks for the subtle flushed radiance.
As for those smoldering eyes, Ashunta chose a striking rich purple shade from Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Sweet Plum on the lids and lower lashes and COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Purple Plume to intensify the colour. She later topped it off with COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume Mascara in Black and Ja’Maal Busters Lash Line for that wee bit of drama.
She also chose to break the smoky-eyes-nude-lips rule with Mary Kay Lip Liner in Berry along with Covergirl Queen Collection Lip Gloss in Pearled Peach which left Keri looking absolutely dazzling. -Dyuti Mishra

During awards season, everyone frequently hears about gifting lounges, which provide the latest and greatest swag to celebrities. The Golden Globes may have passed, but the story of the Madison & Mulholland charity-themed suite is still just as relevant.
This suite provided something a bit new to famous faces. In the suite, celebrities filled up “swag” bags, to be auctioned off for their personal charities. The bags went up for auction on January 25th at Clothes Off Our Back online. One charity that garnered quite a few celebrity bags is Help for Orphans International, which is helping raise money for disaster relief in Haiti.
Held at a private residence in Beverly Hills, celebrities like Evan Handler, Joe Mantegna, Joan Collins and Shar Jackson showed up to fill up their bags with goodies. Each bag included a personalized item from the celebrity as well, from autographed photos to scripts.
Some of the participating vendors were Judith Leiber, Shakers Vodka, Luggage Forward, Verragio Diamonds, Clutch for Cures and Dara Ettinger Jewelry. Hooray for celebs and charities working together.

In a stunning strapless Jason Wu dress, Reese Witherspoon makes compassion look ever so fashionable. Always willing to lend her star power for a great cause, the Sweet Home Alabama actress wore Jason Wu’s dress to An Unforgettable Evening Benefiting Entertainment Industry Foundation’s (EIF) Women’s Cancer Research Fund last night in Beverly Hills.
The dress, from Jason Wu’s Pre-Fall 2010 collection, boasts exquisite and delightfully feminine lace detailing along the hem and bodice. Its purposefully-placed black satin belt and elegant draping create a demure, ladylike silhouette.
Reese Witherspoon’s chic peeptoe pumps and sleek locks were the perfect compliments to her fabulous dress. A beauty on the red carpet, Witherspoon attended the fete alongside several celebrities, including Taylor Swift and Olivia Wilde.

The Issey Miyake design team debuted the Fall/Winter 2010 Collection Thursday in Paris. As eager attendees wait on the outside, the unsuspecting spectators would soon be welcomed into the coffee-house inspired showroom as conceptualized by creative director, Dai Fujiwara. Complete with an espresso bar installed specifically for this season’s event, this only further set the stage for the fashions that facilitate an easy transition from work day, to lazy weekend.
With the Miyake Design studio entering its 40th year this year, the Japanese label did not disappoint with edgy fashions that prove innovative and come riddled with harmonious fusions of texture, color and graphic detailing.
Chunky scarves, vibrant caps, suede shoes, even aprons, are donned by the models as they further sanction the necessary garb for any languid weekend. Double breasted sport jackets, collarless woven shirts and grandpa sweaters frequent the runway, leaving even the audience’s most attention getting, male-fashionistas gaping and wanting more.
No other salon du café in the city could contend with this eloquent tutorial on how to progressively take any frenzied work week down a notch to the tranquilities of a much needed, relaxing weekend. Miyake gives a java infused jolt to Paris’ four day extravaganza of menswear shows, both good, to the last drop.

Numa Perrier Establishes Organization to Provide Hands‐On Relief to a Country in Need.
January 18th, 2010‐ New York, NY‐ Haitian‐ American Glove designer Miss Numa is doing her part to provide hands‐on relief to Haiti, following the massive devastation caused by the January 12th earthquake. With most of her immediate family residing in Port‐Au‐Prince, news of the quake shocked and frightened Numa, along with generations of Haitians living in the United States. Upon learning of three children in her family reported dead and with many others still missing, Perrier, along with her Miami‐based mother, started their grassroots “I Glove Haiti” organization and campaign.
The organization is raising money through the sale of the “I Glove Haiti” t‐shirt, available for men and women exclusively online at www.missnuma.com for $20. 100 percent of the profits from the sale of the shirts will go directly to the purchase and delivery of aide in the form of food, medical supplies, and all other the I Glove Haiti relief efforts. Monetary donations to the organization can also be made through the website.
The aim of I Glove Haiti is to provide hands‐on support to the Haitian people, without having to cover any administrative or salary costs. The first immediate relief will take place on January 25, when Perrier and her team will hand‐deliver donated and purchased goods to Haiti. “What is so beautiful about this organization is that it’s my grassroots effort as a Haitian glove designer to give back and spread awareness, as I owe my talents to a long‐line of creative Haitian women.” Through rare, intermittent phone conversations with those at the core of the devastation, Perrier and the I Glove Haiti organization have been able to collect a list of specific supplies and provisions to best aide
those in dire need. In addition to medical supplies, requests for rice and bottled water have been overwhelming, as those who were strong enough to survive the quake are now starving. The I Glove Haiti organization will not stop at providing immediate relief efforts. Perrier intends for the organization to continue to grow as the reconstruction of Haiti evolves, and to provide ongoing effort to aide in the reconstruction of Haiti. “I want the fashion community to know that I am Haitian and lending my company to the direct aide of a country in need. Spreading my glove will hopefully inspire other’s to follow suit in helping in the best way they know how.”
More About Miss Numa:
Seen on runways around the world and in the pages of Elle, The New York Times, Italian Vogue, Vibe Magazine, and more, Miss Numa gloves serve as an expression of femininity: sensual, luxurious, and refined. Her pieces are available at www.missnuma.com and select boutiques throughout New York and Los Angeles. The “I Glove Haiti” t‐shirt, is available for men and women exclusively online at www.missnuma.com for $20. All proceeds go directly to those in need. Monetary donations are also encouraged to aid in the support of the Haitian victims and the rebuilding efforts.
The 2010 People’s Choice Awards just ended, and the fashion’s were as fabulous as the event. From cocktail attire to ballgowns, sexy to conservative, starlets made a glamorous statement.
Country-cutie Taylor Swift was the picture of perfection in her “winter white” ensemble, with just enough shimmer in her Jenny Packham dress, Neil Lane earrings and bracelet, Odette ring and Christian Louboutin pumps.
Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger wowed the crowd in her curve hugging David Meister dress and Loree Rodkin jewels.
The other country darling Carrie Underwood went for a more edgy look, and it was definitely a winning one. The singer paired her stunning Christian Cota frock with Rock and Republic “Paulina” heels, a Lauren Merkin clutch and jewelry by Johnathan Arndt.
Always classic and chic, Taraji P. Henson did not disappoint in her vintage-inspired Alberta Ferretti gown and dazzling, ornate jewelry.
Young Disney sensation Demi Lovato looked age appropriate, and absolutely charming in her Jenny Packham dress, Rene Caovilla dress and clutch and Carrera y Carrera and Le Vian baubles.
We have to give major credit to fashion maven Diane Kruger. The actress paired her Herve Leger number with accessories from none other than H&M, a recessionista after our own hearts.
Kate Walsh was glittering perfection from head to toe in her Sarni Vintage Dress from Decades (that she picked up earlier that day) and some pretty fierce Casadei Signature Triple Platform Pumps.
Fashion chameleon Olivia Wilde tried out a new look in her Monique Lhullier dress and Fleurette jewels, and I am definitely a fan.
A-list movie star Nicole Kidman sat by her man and looked charming, elegant and edgy in her L’Wren Scott pant-suit, Jimmy Choo heels and her own jewelry. And a quick shout-out has to be given to classic comedian
Cloris Leachman, who showed up smiling in style despite her injury. Love! So many celebrities graced the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards, and these are POSHGLAM’s favorite looks from the night. But the month of awards shows has just begun, so stay tuned for more glamorous fashion.
While some are popping champagne and others are drinking oddly colored mixed drinks, have a casual, yet totally fun New Years Eve, and don’t worry about being the first to pass out while drinking MateVeza Beer. MateVeza (yerba mate + cerveza) is a true unique beer, as it is organic and the first naturally caffeinated to be made with yerba mate, the South American herbal tea. Yerba mate gives a fabulous herbal tasting finish to the beer, and gives you just the boost you need to make it through your night. Yerba mate is to South America what a “cup of Joe” is to America. Yerba mate provides the same amount of caffeine as is in one half cup of coffee, per twelve ounce serving, but isn’t as harsh as the caffeine found in most coffee, and is longer lasting.
MateVeza has two fabulous beer offerings, Yerba Mate Gold and Yerba Mate IPA, both of which are brewed with organic yerba mate, Cascade and Centennial hops, alongside other fabulous ingredients. Yerba Mate IPA was just recently released and is an organic India Pale Ale that mixes earthy, herbal tones with bright hop flavor and aroma.
MateVeza was founded in 2006 by home brewer, Jim Woods after he had a cup of brewed yerba mate followed by a hoppy pale ale, and realized he had a fabulous idea on his hands. Woods learned about yerba mate from his cousin, but then experienced the yerba mate culture in South America when he traveled to Argentina to learn more about the herb. Woods’ beer is brewed and bottled in Ukiah, California by the Mendocino Brewing Company, and it USDA certified, you can rest assured with every sip that you are supporting both organic farming and local business. Woods’ was working in San Francisco as a real-estate broker for Deutsche Bank, and found himself promoting his beer on nights, weekends and vacation days. With the recession on the horizon and numerous changes taking place at Deutsche Bank, Woods’ politely asked his boss to lay him off, so that he could use his severance, unemployment and time to put toward making MateVeza a success. Days later, he was laid off, being one of the few people to thank his employer, and he took the opportunity to build MateVeza, and bring naturally caffeinated beer to the masses, both casual beer drinkers and beer connoisseurs alike.
MateVeza is available in single 22-ounce bottles and 12-ounce four packs nationwide at Whole Foods and BevMo, as well as throughout California, Oregon and Washington and select local retailers, co-ops and natural food stores. Visit MateVeza.com for more information.
