Whether it be a barbie doll or an amazing frock fit for the likes of First Lady Michelle Obama, his popularity is finally catching up to his immense talent. It’s no surprise that TSE Cashmere snagged Wu to create a collection, after their past collaborations with designing greats from Narciso Rodriguez to Richard Chai.

For the Fall 2010 Collection, Wu shows us that he is capable of designing pieces for the young and hip set and not just for the ladies that lunch. He mixes textures in a way that is a little bit downtown, yet still impossibly chic. Silhouettes are feminine in true Wu fashion from draped silk chiffon dresses to pleated skirts, all with modest hemlines. Outerwear definitely makes a statement from a chunky bouclé coat to a fox fur, sure to be seen in both the East Village and on the Upper East Side.

The accessories are also a standout from looped wool scarves to hats with mink fur pom poms. Fun ways to stay warm and breathe a little life into your fall ensembles.

No word if this collaboration will span more than one season so stay tuned.

A fresh new wave of talent has washed right over us and made us sit up straight and take notice. Barely three collections old, The Twentyten has already given the fashion scene a much needed stir with their cutting edge designs and contemporary approach.

The label is the brainchild of three immensely creative designers: Nina Zilka, Jeff Dodd and David J. Krause who got together at the Pratt Institute when they discovered they shared similar design sensibilities and a mutual liking for avant garde fashion. Sculpted, gothic and almost whimsical, each ensemble is an interesting juxtaposition of flow and structure. While Collection One (Fall/Winter 2009) weighed heavy on the architectural side with certain pieces that seemed like a brilliant form of fabric origami; Collection Two, their line-up for spring, was all about an interesting amalgamation of austere tailoring and light drapes. The color palette is essentially achromatic with whites, greys and nude tones but the occasional burst of fuchsia, violet and cobalt are as deliciously refreshing. Silhouettes appear to vary quite distinctly. On one hand is the poufy little coral skirt, tad difficult to pull off but remarkable nonetheless, while on the other is a sheer mesh gown. We also love the snail skirt for its versatility and the mesh back long sleeve dress for the evening. As for men; the net cardigan and moto vest is simply dandy.

Collection Three is the Fall/Winter 2010 line-up and take our word for it when we say that it is nothing short of fabulous. With their impeccable tailoring and outrageous designs, who knows, maybe Lady Gaga might chose to be a part of their fan following very soon. Keri Hilson, for one, certainly chose to do so when she sported origami jodhpurs and fluorescent chain-print top for her video Everything, Everyday, Everywhere.

The Twentyten is available at EVA New York and KIFKA + HELLER’s BLANK and will be available online soon.

As the fashion industry makes the shift to the digital world, several designers are exploring new ways to reach audiences online from virtual runway shows to backstage video footage. Of all the runway presentations that debuted online in recent months, the Lauren by Ralph Lauren show is the most innovative.

In addition to giving fans a front-row seat to the online runway show, Lauren by Ralph Lauren has weaved commentary from the industry’s top Magazine editors into their presentation. While watching models walk the runway, viewers can take in remarks from such icons as Marie Claire’s fashion director Nina Garcia, Harper’s Bazaar’s executive fashion and beauty editor Avril Graham, Cosmopolitan’s fashion director Michelle McCool and O, The Oprah Magazine’s creative director Adam Glassman.

The innovative show also features a “Buy Now” capability, allowing viewers to purchase the safari-inspired and chambray denim looks directly from the site. In addition, an interactive Q+A component enables viewers to seek style tips directly from the aforementioned editors. “It felt very futuristic to be a part of an online fashion show,” said Nina Garcia. “Fashion is always about the Next Big Thing, and a virtual front row, where women can buy the looks they love immediately, is incredibly modern.”

Visit www.ralphlauren.com/Lauren to view the runway show and commentary.

As part of the launch of Lauren by Ralph Lauren’s new interactive runway show, POSHGLAM was invited behind-the-scenes to interview O, The Oprah Magazine’s creative director, Adam Glassman. Oprah Winfrey’s go-to style expert, Glassman has been the Creative Director at O Magazine since 2000, and is credited with pioneering the use of real women in the publication’s photo shoots. Glassman pens a wildly popular column, “Adam Says,” where he fields questions from O readers on a variety of fashion topics. He also recently worked with Sarah Jessica Parker on the debut of her clothing line, “Bitten.”

POSHGLAM sat down with the industry icon to chat about the Lauren by Ralph Lauren collection, why he loves virtual runway shows and the four pieces every woman should have in her Spring wardrobe. Read on.

POSHGLAM: First, I have to say it’s an honor to speak with you. I’ve followed your work for years and love what you’ve done with O Magazine. What do you think about the new Lauren by Ralph Lauren collection?

Adam Glassman: Thank you. The collection is stylish, but understandable and attainable. It’s what women really need right now. When I’m editing for O Magazine, we reach a very broad group of women. We reach three generations of women. And I think designers that are able to dress Grandmother, Mother and Daughter are the smartest ones out there right now. Everyone wants to look chic, stylish and youthful no matter where they are in life. And these clothes make you look great.

POSHGLAM: Absolutely. And they’re attainable without sacrificing quality.

AG: Yes, quality is key. And fit is key. The fact that they are able to dress women from Size 2 to Size 16 is also a good thing.

POSHGLAM: Very true. What were some highlights from the collection?

AG: I loved all the whites and the creams. I don’t think women should be afraid to wear white or cream. White around your face makes you look younger and fresher and more alive, especially in the Springtime. You get noticed and everyone wants to be noticed. It’s all about a great first impression.

POSHGLAM: Absolutely. I agree. Speaking of Spring, what are the strongest trends of the Spring season?

AG: There’s a lot of military dressing: utility jackets and army green, which the Lauren collection touched upon. I’m loving the military jackets but not worn as a uniform. I love it thrown over an evening dress. I love the mix of day and night together in an outfit. Another trend I love are the far and away ethnic prints. I’m seeing a lot of that. And also, I love the spice colors: oranges and saffrons. They look great on every skin tone and hair color. They make for a no-fail color palette that can work from Spring into Summer into Fall. And clothes that endure through the seasons provide great value as well as great style.

POSHGLAM: Yes! I love spice colors. I’m sure being a part of this innovative virtual show was a fascinating experience. What are the benefits of a virtual runway show as opposed to a traditional show?

AG: You can stay at home and watch them in your pajamas. (Laughs) You don’t have to worry about who is staring at you or about being in the front row. I’ll always appreciate the glamour of a traditional runway show but virtual shows are cool because it makes the experience available to a larger group of people. And everything is so fast now so the moment an editor sees it, so does a shopper, so does a blogger and everyone else. There used to be a time where an editor saw the collection and the public didn’t see it for six months. But now everyone wants to see it right away.

POSHGLAM: Right. The Lauren by Ralph Lauren even has the Buy-Now option, where you can purchase the collection as soon as you see the runway show! When it comes to shopping, women trust your advice as a style expert. What are four items that every woman should have in her Spring wardrobe?

AG: (Laughs) A style expert? Thank you. I think every woman should have a white jean. You can’t go wrong with it. Everyone needs some shine in a sparkly tank top or sequined tee. But don’t use it just for evening. Wear shine during the day for a combination of clean and fancy. This Spring, everyone should get a military jacket to just throw on. Another thing is a soft, romantic blouse. If you’re going to the office and you wear a structured suit, a blouse adds a nice play between structured and soft underneath. It’s also great with a pair of jeans for date night or girl’s night out.

POSHGLAM: Yes, very versatile. I saw a lot of blouses like that in the Lauren by Ralph Lauren show, which is great.

AG: Definitely. There are plenty pieces from the Lauren by Ralph Lauren collection that will be wardrobe staples this Spring.

It didn’t take too long to find out that she was wearing the Jean Legging by Joe’s, a fabulous pant that combines the look of denim with the fabrication of leggings making them comfortable yet chic.

Being a jeans and t-shirt girl myself, there are definitely days that my jeans just don’t fit me right (fat day, anyone?) The answer lies in these denim leggings, which allow you to create the casual, cool look of jeans with the fit of leggings, where you don’t have to worry about feeling fat, because no matter what, these leggings will always do your hips proud.

The Jean Legging is available in 42 different fabrications from blue to black and every pastel you could imagine. The collection includes ripped styles, zippered styles and acid washes alongside classic blues, whites for summer and beige that can easily pass for khaki’s, if you are looking for an alternative.

These fabulous pants range from $82 to $98 and are available at Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue. Pair them with a basic tee or sweater, and instantly make them glam with a fabulous pair of heels. However you choose to wear them, you will stay fun and fashionable in these jeggings from running errands to dancing your heart away at the hottest bar in town.

Summer is just around the corner, and if you are like me, you are already thinking about what bathing suit you want to don for Memorial Day.

Whether you are a itsy-bitsy bikini type of girl, someone that likes a little more coverage or all about the one pieces, AMI has a suit to fit your needs. Plus, the swimwear is available in a variety of colors and prints. Whether you prefer a classic look, or something more bold, you will be covered, or actually, not really covered much, but looking fabulous. Personally, I am digging the classic nautical style, but the red bikini will definitely be called upon when I’m trying to meet a hot surfer this summer.

There are over 100 styles to choose from, and they all retail for under $50. The swimwear is flirty and feminine, fashion forward with just enough of a kick to ensure you are the hottest chick hitting the waves. The only thing to really think about is how much fabric you want to cover up with.

The designer is hosting one week “in-store Atelier shopping events” at select Barneys store, where the line will be available this spring, in those stores only.

Barneys is a distinguished fashionista’s paradise, and the Lauren Pierce Atelier collection is a perfect fit for the store, known for carrying the latest and greatest in designer ready-to-wear. Lauren Bush worked with the women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa to make this bold line come to fruition. In the DRC, a program called Women for Women International, helps women in conflict and post-conflict areas of the world by giving them job training and emotional counseling.

I had the opportunity to meet Lauren and experience her atelier this past week during her visit to Barneys in Beverly Hills. First step, I had to pick my silhouette; there are 5 to choose from. And I must say, the variation of bodies allows for these dresses to be worn by anyone from my little sister to my mom. They are all fashion forward, but allow you to pick the style that showcases your personal favorite features. After I picked the one-shoulder dress, it was off to step two, picking a fabric. There was an array of brightly-colored, hand-dyed fabrics to choose from. The fabrics are made by the women in the DRC, and each is one of a kind. I opted for a purple and blue tie-dyed fabric, girly yet chic. The fabrics range from simple to extraordinarily outrageous, so every woman can find the colors that compliment her, or pick the colors she wants to be wearing this spring and summer. From there, it was sizing, to find the size that fit me best.

Now, here comes to best part. After completing these steps, any woman in the atelier can place her order. In 6 weeks, she will be delivered her own, customized dress finished off with a personalized label that includes her name and the name of the woman that hand dyed the fabric that she selected. You have picked the dress and fabric, but how the print lies on the dress will be a surprise as each dress is custom designed by you, the designer, well, and Lauren Bush, too. Plus, with your purchase, you are helping out the women in the DRC, keeping their craft alive and helping to support them and their families.

The dresses are all feminine and sophisticated. Whichever style and pattern you choose, one thing is for sure. You will wear your one-of-a-kind piece with pride. And with prices ranging from $465 to $595, it is the most economically friendly atelier around. With Lauren Pierce Atelier, Lauren Bush allows every girl to become a designer for the day and to create a dress that is uniquely “hers.”

Lauren Pierce Atelier is available at 6 Barneys locations: New York City on Madison Avenue, Chicago on Oak Street, Beverly Hills, San Francisco, Scottsdale and Dallas. Hurry up, and get going on making your dress this spring, so this summer, you can prance around in your very own creation. Lauren is a total dream, and I love that her passion for helping others has sprung into her fashions for a truly fabulous collaborative effort.

Tibi rolls my favorite pastimes into one with bold prints and feminine silhouettes perfect for a trip to St. Tropez or Ibiza.

Today, Tibi and Bloomingdale’s are teaming up and giving the NYC set the perfect chance to start on Spring shopping. A fabulous gift comes with every purchase (don’t worry I won’t spoil the fun) and a beautiful runway piece will be given away to one lucky winner (the piece featured to the right).

I caught up with Tibi’s fashion experts ahead of time to get some spring/summer wardrobe ideas and to talk about some key pieces in the Spring 2010 collection.

What are some key pieces from Tibi’s Spring 2010 Collection?

The Cala Lilly Cap sleeve dress has been selling out like crazy! For a more glam casual look, we have a couple draped blazers in the collection that look amazing paired with our pastel colored ruffle shorts.

With spring and summer approaching, what are 3 essential travel pieces that all women should have?

Cropped jackets in fun textures – Tibi has an amazing suede blazer for spring that completely complements a flowy dress, and having something to slip over a dress or tank when it cools off at night is a travel savior.

Day Dress – We have a few jersey pieces in the Spring collection that you can completely ball up and won’t wrinkle, so amazing for living out of a suitcase. Personal favorite is the Bouvier Jersey One Shoulder Printed Dress: it’s a perfect mix of downtown style and travel sensibility.

LBD – You always need to have a dress for a glitzy night out to make you feel like a rock star. Our Oleander Beading Slip Dress has a vintage silhouette with allover beading for a fun update.

What are some ideas for spring/summer ensembles?

Go short and show off your legs. Also sheer tops with embroidery or crochet detail in more conservative cuts perfectly mix coy and casual. Until the weather warms up, throw a trench over everything and you’re guaranteed to look chic.

Any spring/summer fashion advice?

Always wear sunscreen and never miss a chance to wear color. The Tibi line includes so many fun prints and saturated hues, and summer is the perfect excuse to brighten up your wardrobe.

Omnipresent in the collection is the juxtaposition of organic fabrics and classic tailoring alongside modern technicalities of design.

Knits, leather and fur are the backdrop of the collection with a refined, rock n’ roll attitude for the edgy chick that remains sophisticated and timeless. The pieces are warm, yet remain very light and every item is deconstructed and put back together to create the look. The colors for the pieces are monochromatic, in different tones of the same shades. There palette is doubled with an urban feel in the black, silver, charcoal and concrete and a natural feel with ivory, almond and dark brown. Taking nature and marrying it with the urban evolution creates a collection that is stunning to the eye, with so much depth lying in the details. The embroidery is a unique “bark” which is an organic and iridescent surface of hand-folded gold sequins covered one by one with black voile. An artisans technique that is complimented by the innovations of modernity.

One of the best parts of Costume National is that the line is all encompassing from head to toe. Dresses, pants, coats, jackets, bags and shoes are all from the brand, and work together effortlessly to create looks that are raw yet ornamental and stunning. The Fall 2010 collection is on trend with all of the natural colors that we have been seeing, and what girl can go without a fabulous over-sized bag and funky, rocking shoes? Every garment is incredibly thought out and put together to create true “looks” that are lust-worthy for the girl that isn’t afraid to make a statement but likes to always keep it classy.
