The Special Six
By David
Transitioning from summer into fall does not need a complete wardrobe replacement. Color and texture are pretty much the main measure of deliberation.
Here are six pieces that spell out Fall:
ONE:
Forming ripples on the fashion surface last season, the grey shoe returns unambiguous and detailed. This delicious pointed gray patent shoe from Topman embodies this look perfectly. Pair with dark, rich colors and edit the shine from any accompanied accessory.

TWO:
Nothing speaks of the fall the way Scottish tweed does. Rich in heritage, this rough-surfaced fabric is an awe-inspiring piece to bring to your wardrobe, and no one masters it like J.Crew…Enough said

THREE:
With shirts, don’t think you can wear any all year round. Take the time to separate your shirts for the different seasons, establishing a different temperament for changing temperatures. This rich burgundy shirt from Banana Republic speaks for a chilly season with the perfect ratio of sophistication and spice.

FOUR:
Translating color and texture fluently, corduroy is a great fabric to bring into your wardrobe. American Apparel makes an amazing fitted pair known as the Corduroy Slim Slack. Push the envelope with colors like mustard and gray.

FIVE:
Scarves are a handsome complement to an outfit; much like ties, they vary in color, size and pattern to fit the occasion. This military scarf from French Connection has great texture and a sophisticated dark color palette.

SIX:
Last but not least, the bag. This remarkable Canvas Tug Tote by Bill Amberg is perfect for a mini fall getaway, ushering the autumn leaves and chilly breeze most appropriately.

Catsuits ready, its War | Pam Hogg
By Kaz Longe

If you have never heard the name- Pam Hogg- then now is the time to get familiar. Famous for her rebellious fashion and her love to shock, this was one of the hotly anticipated shows this season. With a host of celebs sitting front row, we were treated to another unexpected show.
In what couldn’t even be called underwear but was in fact a strip of black ribbon covering crucial areas was the outfit that opened the show, and was worn by legendary model- Liberty Ross. Immediately followed by other thought provoking outfits all set in futuristic tones-of course. The collection entitled Goddess of War had catsuits with draped jerseys, bodysuits in graphic patterns, frilly dresses and more. The emphasis on figure and shape makes this very wearable for those that love and want to shock.

Is White is the new Black?| Osman
By Kaz Longe

Osman Yousefzada has decided that from this season onwards he wants to be known only as Osman. Not surprising, given that Yousefzada had always been somewhat of a tongue twister.
With a packed tent and a front row boasting with names of who is who in the London Fashion Scene, Osman was set to make a statement. Is white the new black? This was a very clean, graphic all white collection. From the neck to ankle dress with square pockets in gold fabrics, a long white dress complemented by a white and gold stole, a high waisted full- legged trouser and full mini skirts, you cant help but feel very girlish and glamorous. His name might have been shortened but his point could not have been any more clearer.

Bright Whites Big City | Eun Jeong
By Kaz Longe

Despite the doom of the postal strike and stacks of invites sitting idly in some sorting bin, the show must go on. Eun Jeong showing her second on-schedule show sure knows how to brighten a mood. An all-white pallette of her signature tailoring- draping, showed off a lot of visual layering in every outfit. Lace yet heavy short dresses, sculptured jackets shimmered as they grew even more elaborate with each passing outfit. Fluffed out hair, laced-up shoes complemented by ankle socks gave it that rebellious tone that Londoners love to feel. Constantly offsetting the tone were the odd glimmers of silver in light flocking and that short sleeve ruffled dress that could give the LBD something to think about.
Once again, the focus on shoulders here is very strong. This shows that this trend will not be going away anytime soon, at least not for another season in London.

Paul Costelloe Kicks off London Fashion Week
By Kaz Longe

The unpredictable British weather seemed to agree with the fashion atmosphere as London Fashion Week began with a beautiful warm day. In the spirit of celebrations, Paul Costelloe opened the show by introducing his first menswear collection alongside his well established womens wear line.
His take on the cocktail dress puts a new spin on happy hours. Bold colours pop as sculptural forms accentuate and emphasize femininity. Boxed shapes, exaggerated shoulders, High necks and pleated details are all cleverly constructed into this collection for those that enjoy standing out.
The designer said, ” for my SS10 collection, i have built on my love of tailoring and pushed my brand in a new direction”. If this is the definition of a new direction, then we’ll gladly follow behind wearing that gorgeous high neck, candy coloured coat, of course!

Rebecca Taylor Spring 2010
By Faith
The Rebecca Taylor mantra is always sweet and charming and that mantra rings true with her Spring 2010 Collection.
For Spring, Taylor opted for a more whimsical mix-and-match trend with polka dots and floral creating a sugary sweet and feminine juxtaposition.
Hemlines were high as always keeping the mood flirty, fun, and young. Cropped boyfriend blazers kept the looks polished while hot pants of all persuasions added to the playful side of the collection. Mini dresses in bright coral colors matched the lips of the models and kept in trend with other designers for Spring 2010 establishing coral as a power color. A one-shoulder floral jumpsuit also showed that jumpsuits are here to stay for spring.
The Rebecca Taylor girl was out in full-force and Gabrielle Union, Mena Suvari, Marissa Miller, and Tiffani Amber Thiessen watched front-row.
For Spring 2010, Taylor is celebrating a woman who is confident, enamored with color, and not afraid to have a little fun. More highlights from the show below.
