UN.DER T Unisex
By Kimberly
UN.DER T A unisex diffusion line of avant-garde menswear line TELFAR- is more than just another label. UN.DER T is a return of TELFAR’s most popular designs from past seasons and like the designers mainline, UN.DER T, which is complex and simple- is a design skill TELFAR coined “Simplex.”
Telfar Clemens the Creative Director of upcoming menswear label TELFAR developed UN.DER T in the requests of fans, both male and female, scouting out his old designs. The remix of the Triple and Simplex Tee, Double Tanktop, and Dropped Crotch Pant inspired UN.DER T.
This Spring Summer 2010 the UN.DER T collection will launch in NYC at EVA New York located in Noho at 355 Bowery between 3rd and 4th St. A Special premiere during Mens Market where an UN.DER T private party will occur in-store July 21, 2009 from 6-9 pm .
EVA is a unisex fashion stop carrying progressive designers ThreeasFour, C Neeon, and Henrik Vibsikov. For more information on Eva contact info@evanewyork.net or call 212-925-3890.

Telfar Clemens was born in 1985 to native Liberian parents in Queens New York. In 2002, Telfar began to pursue modeling and by 2003 was already in the early stages of creating his own collection. By deconstructing and reconstructing vintage clothing, Telfar began selling his own designs in New York City’s hip Lower East Side and Soho boutiques.
Designing ‘Simplex’ clothes for the urban species became Telfar’s inspiration and in 2004 he launched his own fashion label, appropriately entitled TELFAR. Now a sought after model and one of the faces of menswear label Cloak, Telfar began working at the menswear house where he activated the opportunity to learn more about fashion design and the industry. TELFAR’s collection includes unisex designs based on the principles of comfortable sportswear and simplexity and has received press in Time Out, Vogue Homme International, Flaunt, NY Times, and the list goes on.

Dress the Summer in White
By David
Beyond black, the classic accompaniment to white, many men are discouraged by what may seem like a rather challenging color. Here are some simple ways to incorporate white appropriately into your summer wardrobe:
White Jeans:
Think fitted, straight leg white jeans or even broken-in chinos. Whichever, the idea is to accent the white and never to highlight it. In maintaining a sense of masculinity and subtlety, white shouldn’t appear too bleached and bright. Pair white bottoms with simple layers like a piqué polo or v-neck with a dark blazer or sport coat. Leave the sheen and brightness to a simple accessory like the shiny rim on a pair of aviators.

The White Linen Shirt:
There aren’t many things that quite sum up summer like a white linen shirt. It effortlessly speaks of relaxed days at the beach or unhurried strolls around the city. Don’t worry about it being ironed and crisp, let loose, roll up the sleeves and pair with cuffed khaki flat front shorts or dark denim jeans for a balmy night out. Anchor your look with a patterned fabric belt for some visual interest.

The White Blazer:
A white blazer is the perfect substitute for the jacket’s ubiquitous black or navy hues. A slim silhouette with a crisp shirt is a timeless summery look for the beach or a night out on the town. A nice rounded natural tan will highlight this look, overdoing it will make you look an Armani Exchange ad gone badly.

Modern meets LUXE in Perfume a la Memoire Liquide Bespoke Perfumery
By Leah
Stash that same-old-boring-and-loaded-with-too-much-alcohol-perfume for a roll-on of Memoire Liquide Bespoke Perfume. This stuff is high class (and were not talking that of the HOTlanta Housewives), for the discerning client of fine fragrance. Tons of fragrance bases are available to select from, but the real fun is uncovering a customized, bespoke, formula. Once a desired scent is concocted, it sits on file for future replenishment. The concept of Memoire Liquide Bespoke Perfumery is actually quite elementary, combine the elements of smell with memories and presto, the outcome is a made-to-order aroma. Why this perfumery is top-notch? It’s their keen attention to detail (impeccable service meets timeless elegance) and their rare selection of base notes. And if you like lotions and potions (e.g., massage oils) its doable pulling from what is already on file.

RMS Beauty
By Leah
RMS Beauty A.K.A. Real Make-up Secrets is what’s fresh in the organic cosmetics space. Think a solid solution for a line of pure products that won’t clog pores, put simply makeup sans all the crap. Rose-Marie Swift is the brain behind the brand who totes nearly 20 years of experience as a celebrity make-up artist. So what’s unique about RMS Beauty? First off it literally contains non-toxic ingredients—translation—products are made with raw organic ingredients in their purest form so the essential vitamins and nutrients needed to nourish skin are intact. Second, Swift is the creator behind the end all be all facts on beauty, at beautytruth.com, its apparent she has a handle on real makeup. And lastly, RMS Beauty is kind to mother earth with use of recyclable glass packaging.
The product that hooked us, the ‘un’ cover-up ($36), conceals and hides blemishes, spots, etc., and heals skin while doing so. Think that’s neat. It’s literally undetectable, that even your boy pal (friend or roomie) can use it.

Plia Designs, Accessories for the Fashionably Wired
By Kimberly

New York – July 1, 2009 – In recent years high-tech gadgets have received a complete image makeover, where now terms like ‘sexy’ and ‘sleek’ are used to describe what were once only thought of as sterile communication tools. Today – especially among the fashionable set – iPhones, iPods and Blackberry’s are seen as another glamorous accessory like a handbag or shoe. Which begs the question – why do these sophisticated inventions only have the option of being carried in a generic nylon or PVC case found in your local consumer electronics store?
Designer Jill Partain recognized this untapped niche in the marketplace. From her design studio in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Jill launched Plia Designs, a collection of high-quality, hand-crafted small leather accessories for handheld devices.
“Modern technology has become another facet for one to express their personal style, “explained Jill. “I wanted to celebrate this idea, while still honoring the traditions of Old World leather craftsmanship and construction.”
The Plia Designs collection features whimsical, yet practical silhouettes in rich colors, patterns and textures made from the finest leathers. Inspired by a vintage dinner jacket, the Jacket Case in hand-stitched python and snake print leather is a sure conversation starter. The Kangaroo and Whipstitch cases offer a more classic approach. For evening, the velvet-lined Luxe Hardshell Case does double duty as a miniaudiere, while the Bellini Clutch is an elegant, smart option that would never be confused for a mere protective cover.
Each piece retails for under $80 and is available at www.pliadesigns.com.

Concrete + Cashmere Launch Party
By David
The weather was a perfect backdrop to a perfect evening at the launch party for Alize’s groundbreaking fashion reality show, Concrete + Cashmere. Held in the Penthouse of the trendy Cooper Square Hotel, access to party was the hottest ticket in town. From James LaForce, founder of fashion PR firm LaForce + Stevens, to Erin Lucas of MTV’s hit show, The City, the soiree was packed with some of fashion’s most notable luminaries. Special guest, DJ Rashida, DJ for Prince and MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, got the crowd really groovig later in the evening when she decided to hop on the turn tables for a surprise set. Reality show stars Angel Chang from Bravo’s The Fashion Show, and winner of VH1’s Glam God, Indashio, also came out to show their support for the show.
As Den Father to the contestants on the show, it was great to be reunited with the cast and the crew. I hope you catch the show and watch as the drama unfolds! The show will have 12 webisodes, which can be seen at www.concreteandcashmere.com.
