With vintage items posing as forever classic pieces, you can easily gaze to Paris, France for inspiration of their great artists and designers, such as vintage costume and couture jeweler Marguerite de Valois.
What makes Marguerite de Valois particularly special is a technique they’ve applied for over 150 years. Marguerite de Valois works with molten glass and highlights it in their pieces, and has been featured in a plethora of couture houses such as Chanel, Yves Saint-Laurent, and Christian Lacroix.
Four years ago, Géraldine Paillat-Patte and her mother Chantal took to the brand’s helm in order to keep alive the molten glass technique. And in the short amount of time that this mother and daughter team has taken over, their jewelry has been profiled in outlets including International Herald Tribune and Marie Claire.
Both women design the jewelry with a “chic girl” in mind, and have their own Paris based atelier. Marguerite de Valois has two collections available: Reine Margot (a homage to their much earlier pieces), and the prêt-à-porter collection.

Thanks for introducing me to the work of Marguerite de Valois. I came across this post as I was looking for inspiration for my passionate hobby; refashioning jewelry out of old costume jewelry.
