Fashion Goes To Bali and Comes Back With Good Charma

CH-AME44_big

Pamela Fink, the designer behind the accessories line, Good Charma, is a prime example of a designer that is inspired by her past, present and future. Growing up, Fink found pleasure playing dress-up with her grandmother’s jewelry. Her superstitious father, who collected all sorts of lucky charms, influenced her belief in spreading luck and positive energy to those around her.

CH-57

A true world traveler, Fink found her favorite destination in Bali because of its culture. It was there in 2001, when the US announced its invasion of Iraq that the message behind Good Charma came to life. Fink felt compelled to spread love, joy and luck to those around her and translated these messages into her jewelry. The line started with sets of 6 bracelets with dangling charms with the concept that the wearer would give one to a friend for good fortune, with the idea of “paying it forward.” Not only did women pay forward, but collected the line giving it a great popularity. Having an inherent sense of style, the line came easy to Fink, but it is the messages and beliefs which ultimately catapulte the collection.

CHG-2LBNGood Charma recently launched Wish 4 Peace, scarves with bold prints promoting positive messages. During the tough economic times of the present spreading good charma is something that everyone can appreciate.

A few fans of Good Charma include: Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Moore, Beyonce and Selena Gomez. To learn more visit GoodCharma.com.

Beginning with two cloche styles in a wide array of colors, her headwear line has grown dramatically to now include men’s headwear and couture and custom designs, and is sold at select high-end retailers nation-wide.victoriabek

What’s Hot in Jewels With Luis Morais

LUISM_ALL

When we use our arms and hands to express ourselves, we rarely stop to think the accessories that adorn these parts can emote in the same way, if not better, how we feel. Luis Morais proves this point with his new collection, “to the bone” inspired by Kali the Hindu goddess associated with eternal energy. From a bracelet and necklace that conveys the most subtle of gestures, a golden embrace, to the dazzling and sparkling strength of the forearm and fist, Morais uses the utmost care in metals revealing the obvious yet restrained movements that we as humans often take for granted. According to Jacqueline Rosenfeld, Publicist for Luis Morais, “The gold hands piece references the sign of the “shaka” or a “hang loose” gesture symbolic of friendship and understanding. The gold gesture hand adorned with diamonds giving the figa symbol brings luck, prosperity, and protection. Per tradition, to obtain luck from this symbol the figa must be received as a gift.”

LM_2Since his start making jewelry in 2000, Morais’s work has graced the pages of GQ, Vogue, Elle, and InStyle. His collection retails along both coasts of the United States and in Asia and Europe. With always wanting our accessories to express our individual tastes and desires, Luis Morais reminds us that expressing our truth and desire from the world is only one accessory away.
