Beyoncé ‘Heats’ Up NYC for Fragrance Launch

International pop sensation, Beyoncé, conquers every field she steps her Christian Louboutin stiletto in. Music? She’s a seven-time Grammy award winner who was recently named Billboard’s Woman of the Year. Fashion? Her House of Dereon line has quickly become a force in the Fashion industry. Film? Beyonce garnered two Golden Globes nominations for Dreamgirls and scored a box-office hit with Obsessed. Now, the multi-talented diva has set her sights on the beauty industry with her first-ever fragrance, entitled “Heat.”

Licensed by Coty, Beyoncé’s premiere fragrance embodies her unbridled passion and alluring sexuality. A floral, fruity and wooden scent, ‘Heat’ is a captivating blend of rare, sensual flowers. The fragrance contains top notes of red vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli and blush peach, heart notes of honeysuckle nectar, almond macaroon and crème de musk as well as base notes of giant sequoia milkwood, tonka bean and amber.

The beautiful songstress had this to say about her first fragrance: “My fragrance is a unique expression of a women’s powerful sensuality. The scent thrills and enthralls, drawing you in. At the same time, it is elegant and feminine with an air of mystery. I created this fragrance for self-assured women everywhere, for women who are not afraid to desire and be desired.”

To kick off the launch of ‘Heat,’ Beyoncé will illuminate Union Square on February 2nd with a fiery red light and smoky fog, giving the city an aura that matches her irresistible appeal.

On February 3rd, she will make a personal appearance at Macy’s Herald Square, where the first customers to purchase the Beyoncé Heat 3-piece fragrance set will get the chance to meet and pose for a picture with the pop culture icon.

The Eau de parfum is $39 for 1 oz.; $49 for 1.7 oz and $59 for 3.4 oz. The Gold Sparkling Body Lotion retails for $24.

‘Heat’ will be available at Macy’s in February and in Europe, Middle East, Far East and Australia by August.

Katy Perry in The Blonds

VMAS-9-13-09-KatyPerry-1The 2009 Video Music Awards were truly an unique event from Kanye West’s outburst to a Michael Jackson tribute sure to go down in history. The Red Carpet was nothing short of interesting from Lady Gaga in Gaultier to Pink and Shakira sporting the same dress.

One lady who stood out from the masses was the always lovely and original Katy Perry who capitalized on the big trends of the night: metallics and minidresses. Perry rocked an amazing one-of-a-kind piece from Philippe and David Blond of The Blonds. The piece was rhodium-plated and made of silver mesh chains, though a far cry from the traditional notions of armor. Crystals adorned the dress and helped Perry to shine like the star that she is.

Philippe and David also made Perry’s performance piece which was an ode to Frankie Mercury and crowned Perry as one of the best-dressed of the night. The Blonds have dressed like-minded fashionistas such as Rihanna and Beyonce and we cannot wait to see what other designs they have up their sleeves.
