Designer June Chang has always appreciated fine details. As a child, her grandmother encouraged her to study the small intricacies in accessories as well the different colors and textures that make a piece unique. The sketches she made of her grandmother’s vintage jewelry collections honed her talent and her lifelong obsession with accessories and handbags began.

Chang felt that before embarking on her design career, it would be best to study the other side of the business. She began a career in business marketing and then enrolled in fashion merchandising and accessory design, graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2005.
  
Chang launched her first collection of CHîa New York in the Fall of 2006 and has since created handbags made of the most luxurious genuine Italian leathers. The handbags in her Fall 2009 “Attitude” collection are light weight and easily matched to both day and nighttime attire. CHîa New York’s handbags combine modern silhouettes, richness of textures and charming details.
