Barbie by Christian Louboutin, Part Deux

By Samantha

It was hard to not hear about the fabulous collaboration between Barbie, and her god-father, Monsieur Louboutin. The first doll, the Cat Burglar, launched in November, and sold out with rave reviews. Now, everyone’s favorite trend-setter has received her second head to toe makeover by the uber designer, for a look that is fresh for spring, and totally Parisian chic.

Dressed in a khaki, safari-inspired dress and over the knee, hot pink fringed boots, Barbie looks fashion forward, chic and well, damn, those boots are amazing! This look is completely different from the Cat Burglar, and represents a different facet of the Christian Louboutin woman. And the added bonus, this doll comes with a wardrobe of three alternate pairs of shoes, complete with mini Christian Louboutin boxes and bags. I don’t know what is more fun, carrying your own Louboutin box, or being able to dress your Barbie doll in different shoes each day. I must say, the safari look has never looked so glam.

The ultimate collectible item, Safari Barbie by Christian Louboutin, will be available starting tomorrow, March 3, for $150 at Net-A-Porter and BarbieCollector.com, but you better hurry.  This fashionable lady has many admirers; there’s already a wait list! And hopefully, I am at the top of it. And remember, this is only the second of the line of Barbie by Christian Louboutin, there will be a third released in May, so stay tuned.

Lust vs. Must: Valentine's Accessories

By Samantha

Red, pink and hearts everywhere, Valentine’s Day is upon us. Now, the biggest question remains, what to wear for a hot date (or ladies) night out. One thing is for sure, whether it is for your hubby or potential prospects, you will want to look your best.

While some opt for a night of wining and dining, others spend the night in a more casual setting with a loved one. Single ladies, Valentine’s Day is one of the prime nights to go man-hunting, as all the taken dudes are out with their chicks. Whatever you decide to wear (don’t worry, we will cover that later), accessories are key to spruce up any outfit and create a look that will leave your man, and all other men, drooling. Valentine’s Day provides a great excuse to go shopping, however, some ladies don’t want to spend their entire paycheck on accessories for the night. But never fear, there are an array of options to lust after, and many that are easily attainable, and definite must-haves.

When it comes to a handbag for Valentine’s Day, cute and girly is always acceptable. This Judith Leiber “Heart n’ Soul” miniaudiere is definitely a lust-have item. When it comes to the chic-est handbags, Judith Leiber is definitely the go-to designer. She creates such funky pieces that remain elegant and classy, and are forever shimmering and glitzy. However, Judith Leiber is not in the budget of many fashionistas, but that doesn’t mean you have to look any less dazzling. Clara Kasavina makes an adorable heart shaped clutch, the Amore, in metallic silver, which is uber glam and definitely something fabulous to grab onto for your big night out.

One of the key pieces to any ensemble is shoes. For Valentine’s Day, there is no reason why you can’t go super glam with extra shine, after all, you definitely want to catch your lover (or future lover’s) eye. Christian Louboutin’s “Glitter” Pump in hot pink has been making strides on red carpets everywhere. That famous red sole couples with hot pink tonal glitter is the ultimate lust-have for glamour gals everywhere. However, if you are a bit over red soles, or just don’t want to spend your money in one place, there is one heck of a fabulous must-have looming. Patricia Field, the woman behind Sex and the City, has super hot “Bordello” Hot Pink Glitter Platform Pumps for sale on her site, made by Pleaser. Now, these shoes are the epitome of “F-Me” shoes, and it doesn’t really matter what you are wearing when you are accessorizing with these.

Once the handbag and shoes are taken care of, it is onto jewels to complete the ensemble. There are so many options when it comes to Valentine’s Day worthy gems full of love, hearts and a ton of sparkle. Chanel’s Plexi and Metal Bangles are lust-worthy whether it is Valentine’s Day or not. The set of 3 bangles are black, gold and white and feature hearts with arrows. So cute, and so much fun! The alternative, is an adorable bracelet from TopShop. Their “Love on Beads” bracelet won’t hurt your wallet, even if you buy three of them, to complete a Chanel-worthy look.

TopShop “Love on Beads” Bracelet $15 TopShop

And remember, it is entirely acceptable to print this out and post in on your special someone’s medicine cabinet, just for gift ideas, and a brief nudging reminder.

Man of Swag: Super Bowl 2010 Winner Reggie Bush

By Jessica

Sure his famous rumored fiancée, Kim Kardashian, stays glued to his side, but what’s wrong with an innocent, secret crush on New Orleans’ Saints running back, Reggie Bush? The chocolate 6-foot, 203-pound NFL player won the Superbowl yesterday (Who Dat!), but he was a champion in our book long before the game started.

We’d love to get tackled on the field by the sports star but he’s just as sexy out of the uniform. Reggie cleans up lovely in monochromatic black suits that give James Bond a run for his money in the debonair department. He’s just as suave in three-piece suits, like the one he wore below to the Espy Awards.

When it’s time to go casual,  pea coats, Henley sweaters and motorcycle jackets are Reggie’s go-to pieces.

And who couldn’t love a man that shares POSHGLAM’s label lust? Bush showed off a pair of sleek, studded Christian Louboutin sneakers from the Spring 2010 collection in a picture with rapper Swizz Beatz on Kim Kardashian’s Twitter yesterday.

He also has a heart of gold to match his team’s colors, hosting charity events to benefit several organizations in New Orleans, including A Child’s Wish and Habitat for Humanity.

With his dimpled smile on the cover of February’s ESSENCE Magazine and a spot in the national MILK ad campaign (below), there’s no telling where his next press opportunity will land him. Maybe on the cover of Brides magazine arm-in-arm with yours truly, I mean, Kim Kardashian? Only time will tell.

Help Choose Barbie’s Next Career

By Samantha

Most recently, we saw the Christian Louboutin-designed Barbie hit the scene in a fabulous cat-burglar ensemble that immediately sold out on Net-a-Porter. However, Louboutin lovers are in luck, as the designer has two other creations coming out, a Safari-themed Barbie in February and Barbie going to Cannes in April. Every girl has fond memories of Barbie, and every grown up fashionista has love for their Loubies, so this collaboration really is a lady’s must-have.

Now that Barbie has the high fashion wardrobe, she needs a fabulous career to match. Women everywhere can be a part of making Barbie’s next career path come to life. The American style icon has had over 120 inspiring careers to date and her career choices have had a huge impact on millions of little girls throughout her 50+ years (we know, she doesn’t look that old). Little ladies everywhere have been able to live their dreams through the doll’s jobs which demonstrate that any career path is possible. On her next adventure, Barbie is leaving her career up to her fans to decide. There are five potential paths for her to go on: Environmentalist, Surgeon, Architect, News Anchor and Computer Engineer. I must say, I am a little bummed that “Blogger” isn’t one of the career options, but I think I am voting for the “News Anchor” Barbie. The newest edition of Barbie will be announced and released in February as part of the “I Can Be” campaign. Vote on Barbie.com.

POSHGLAM's Best Dressed at the Golden Globes

By Samantha

I’m not sure what was more exciting about this year’s Golden Globes: watching the starlets prance down the red carpet, or learning of Joan River’s return to it. Either way, the 2010 Golden Globes brought an array of colorful gowns and no real misses. All in all, everyone looked fabulous but of course, we couldn’t help but pick favorites.

Two of our favorite “Friends” were there, and while dressed black, these ladies looked anything but basic. Courteney Cox looked like a true cougar in her Victoria Beckham dress and Jimmy Choo “Zena” sandals and “Tube” clutch. Jennifer Aniston looked jaw-dropping as she presented in a Valentino dress, Versace heels and Fred Leighton jewels.

Julia Roberts, a personal favorite and no stranger to the red carpet looked super chic in a vintage Yves Saint Laurent frock and a statement necklace from Van Cleef and Arpels. Olivia Wilde made her black look dazzle in a gown by Gucci, Jimmy Choo “Zena” sandals (same as Cox), jewels by Tiffany and Co., and a Judith Leiber clutch. We’re even more excited that Wilde is donating her dress to be auctioned off in a benefit for Haiti. Visit ArtistsforPeaceandJustice.com for more information.

Newcomer Lea Michelle looked like a real princess in an Oscar de la Renta number complimented with Chopard jewels, a Fendi bag and Christian Louboutin heels. Black has never been less boring.

White also made a big foray on the red carpet. Kate Hudson looked refined and classic in a Marchesa gown and Stephen Russell bracelet. Starlet Kristen Bell opted for a shorter number with her Jasmine di Milo dress, which she accessorized with a Judith Leiber clutch, Van Cleef and Arpels jewels and Christian Louboutin heels. Calista Flockhart, who I miss seeing on the carpet, channeled a vintage vibe in her Alberta Ferretti dress and Judith Leiber clutch. Jaime Pressly made her light shade metallic and stunned in a Kevan Hall dress and Lauren Merkin clutch.

There were quite a few starlet who dazzled in bold colors on the carpet. These are usually my favorite, and it is even better when the colors are on celebrities that you would not expect. Cameron Diaz defined bold in a stunning Alexander McQueen dress, Roger Vivier clutch, Ferragamo pumps and a vintage Van Cleef and Arpels rope bracelet. Big winner of the night, Sandra Bullock, looked like an iconic movie star in her Bottega Veneta gown and clutch with sky-high Casadei shoes. Fashionista Zoe Saldana chose a fab berry colored hue in her Louis Vuitton dress and Brian Atwood shoes.

Another big trend at the Golden Globes was golden dresses, which makes sense given the occasion. If only there was better weather, the gold would have really been able to shine in the January sunlight. Hollywood’s darling, Drew Barrymore, another winner, channeled old Hollywood glamour in an Atelier Versace gown coupled with Jimmy Choo “Zena” sandals, a Roger Vivier clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. “House” hottie Jennifer Morrison looked graceful in a Luis Antonio dress, Judith Leiber clutch and Martin Katt baubles. Her red lips were the perfect compliment. Another winner of the night, Mo’Nique looked just as golden and beautiful as her statue. Nicole Kidman rocked the red carpet in a dress by Nina Ricci and Fred Leighton jewels. These ladies proved that gold is always in style, and really can look good on anyone.

Not far off from the above spectrum, there were quite a few pink and grey hued dresses that wowed on the red carpet. It may have been raining in Los Angeles, but these ladies are definitely ready for spring-time to roll around and showcased some trends that we are sure to be seeing more often. Emily Blunt looked feminine, fresh and fantastic in a Dolce and Gabbana dress, Jimmy Choo “Quinze” booties and a Ferragamo miniaudiere. One of our favorite celebrity moms looked stunning in an Atelier Versace dress, Judith Leiber clutch and Bulgari jewels giving us a newfound love for grey. Maggie Gyllenhaal spiced up the red carpet in a RM by Roland Mouret “Sirens” mermaid gown, Prada shoes and Bulgari jewelry.

No Golden Globes is complete without Miss Golden Globe. This year, the honor was given to Hollywood celebrity Alfre Woodard’s daughter Mavis Spencer. The two posed together for a picturesque look in berry shades. Woodard chose a purple gown with Jimmy Choo “Perfume” sandals, while her daughter opted for something peachier. Miss Golden Globe and her mother looked absolutely phenomenal, and closed the gap between Hollywood icons and starlets. The Golden Globes were definitely a fashion hit this year, despite the rain. Stay tuned for more red carpet coverage, after all, the Academy Awards are just around the corner.

POSHGLAM's Best Dressed at The People's Choice Awards

By Samantha

The 2010 People’s Choice Awards just ended, and the fashion’s were as fabulous as the event. From cocktail attire to ballgowns, sexy to conservative, starlets made a glamorous statement.

Country-cutie Taylor Swift was the picture of perfection in her “winter white” ensemble, with just enough shimmer in her Jenny Packham dress, Neil Lane earrings and bracelet, Odette ring and Christian Louboutin pumps.

Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger wowed the crowd in her curve hugging David Meister dress and Loree Rodkin jewels.

The other country darling Carrie Underwood went for a more edgy look, and it was definitely a winning one. The singer paired her stunning Christian Cota frock with Rock and Republic “Paulina” heels, a Lauren Merkin clutch and jewelry by Johnathan Arndt.

Always classic and chic, Taraji P. Henson did not disappoint in her vintage-inspired Alberta Ferretti gown and dazzling, ornate jewelry.

Young Disney sensation Demi Lovato looked age appropriate, and absolutely charming in her Jenny Packham dress, Rene Caovilla dress and clutch and Carrera y Carrera and Le Vian baubles.

We have to give major credit to fashion maven Diane Kruger. The actress paired her Herve Leger number with accessories from none other than H&M, a recessionista after our own hearts.

Kate Walsh was glittering perfection from head to toe in her Sarni Vintage Dress from Decades (that she picked up earlier that day) and some pretty fierce Casadei Signature Triple Platform Pumps.

Fashion chameleon Olivia Wilde tried out a new look in her Monique Lhullier dress and Fleurette jewels, and I am definitely a fan.

A-list movie star Nicole Kidman sat by her man and looked charming, elegant and edgy in her L’Wren Scott pant-suit, Jimmy Choo heels and her own jewelry. And a quick shout-out has to be given to classic comedian Cloris Leachman, who showed up smiling in style despite her injury. Love! So many celebrities graced the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards, and these are POSHGLAM’s favorite looks from the night. But the month of awards shows has just begun, so stay tuned for more glamorous fashion.

Barbie’s still celebrating the BIG 50

By Leah

Louboutin-Barbie-2

Unless fifty is the new thirty, Barbie is one ageless babe. Though she’s making 50, she’s still a fashionable darling. To jubilate her big day, Barbie’s teaming up with who’s who in all things stylish to flash her pretty-in-pink appeal. Be on alert for collaborations by home décor guru Jonathan Adler and red-soled-heel genius Christian Louboutin.

To debut this December, Louboutin is populating limited edition dolls plus tiny shoes for Barbie. Yep you got it right, she even gets her own Louboutin’s, in color, Barbie Pantone 219 Pink. “I guess I always had a little ‘girlie side’ who liked Barbie,” adds Louboutin. “Barbie needs to wear great shoes because every girl needs to wear great shoes.” Touché.

The collector-set’s first release is Cat-Burglar Barbie …with three more to soon follow; stay tuned for what’s next with Barbie and Louboutin.

Daily Shrine: Victoria Beckham

By Kimberly

They didn’t call her Posh Spice for nothing. Victoria Beckham was the picture of style perfection as she stepped out in a to-die-for (and timeless!) black and white polka-dot trench accented with large black shades, Louboutin heels, and her signature Hermes Birkin in black. Divine. Though Victoria’s had her share of misses here and there, I think she’s hit it out of the ballpark here. It’s very Audrey Hepburn, very glamorous, and very luxe. Love it, love it, love it.
