It’s Warhol Time: Back in Action with Bond No. 9

By Leah

AWSuccessPerfumeCalling all Andy Warhol fans, if you’re a die-hard collector something brand-new is here. Haute and funky perfumery Bond No.9 releases their latest invention—in ode to Mr. Warhol—Andy Warhol Success is a Job in New York ($145). Undeniably it’s the longest name for a perfume, just part of the ongoing series of Warhol collectibles by Bond No. 9. The bottle speaks volumes in illustrating one of Warhol’s iconic subjects, the dollar sign, from which he created the series of Dollar Signs in1981. The smell carries top notes of coriander, mandarin and cardamom that head into a floral burst of jasmine, rose and plum and end with an oriental base. Success is an aroma worthy to carry the name associated with dollar signs and a job. Seeing the market is in a shambles, it’s a bit of tall talk for a perfume established around money. Then again, Success is slated for shelves October 1, so perhaps Bond No. 9 is predicting a turn in the economy. Let’s wait and see.

Bond No. 9 receives snaps from mother earth. Why? Bring in any empty perfume bottle to one of their stores or counters at Saks Fith Avenues’ nationwide and they’ll recycle it for free—and for doing your do-good-green-deed, Bond No. 9 will gift you a refillable pocket spray.

RMS Beauty

By Leah

RMSuncoverRMS Beauty A.K.A. Real Make-up Secrets is what’s fresh in the organic cosmetics space. Think a solid solution for a line of pure products that won’t clog pores, put simply makeup sans all the crap. Rose-Marie Swift is the brain behind the brand who totes nearly 20 years of experience as a celebrity make-up artist. So what’s unique about RMS Beauty? First off it literally contains non-toxic ingredients—translation—products are made with raw organic ingredients in their purest form so the essential vitamins and nutrients needed to nourish skin are intact. Second, Swift is the creator behind the end all be all facts on beauty, at beautytruth.com, its apparent she has a handle on real makeup. And lastly, RMS Beauty is kind to mother earth with use of recyclable glass packaging.

The product that hooked us, the ‘un’ cover-up ($36), conceals and hides blemishes, spots, etc., and heals skin while doing so. Think that’s neat. It’s literally undetectable, that even your boy pal (friend or roomie) can use it.
