Brian Atwood makes some of the most fetching footwear and the Grace is no exception. It’s a slingback with a towering stiletto heel and tiny gold studs gracing its sides and back. They’re perfect for a night out on the town. For an office look, hide the studs with a wide leg trouser. The Grace Slingbacks retail for $770 and can be bought at Intermix.
Embrace your inner rocker and take a walk on the wild side.
Add some sexy flair to your footwear this year with designer Heather Williams‘ Spring 2010 collection. Drawing inspiration from a New Yorker’s life, Williams based her lasted designs off of popular landmarks in the Big Apple.
Splitting her time between New York and Milan, Williams embraces her surroundings fully. With her Spring collection, the designs are New York-inspired but are made with Italian leathers.
“I’ve been living a ‘double life’ in Milan and New York,” Williams said. “…And I’m always inspired by the environments that I live in… Translated to footwear, the new designs let the foot take center stage for a strong and sexy style.”
The architecturally savvy shoes are structured and edgy. The “Gaia” shoe ($740) wraps the foot in sexy straps, while the blue-black “Jesse” shoe ($970) gives a tough leather-bound and snakeskin look.
Also great is the “Summit” ($715), which has a softer look and is perfect to pair with a khaki or jeans and a blazer.

With trends constantly changing in footwear, and prices continuously soaring, how can a girl keep up? The quick answer is Jai B. Couture, an Atlanta based footwear company that brings ladies up-to-the-minute, fashion forward footwear at budget friendly prices without forsaking a quality product and finish.
Designer Marqoiusha Brown was inspired to create Jai B. Couture by the urban culture of her grandfather, Johnny C. Brown. She describes him as bold, charismatic and witty, which are three characteristics that she strives to see in each of her shoes. This unique collection allows any woman to stand apart from the crowd, and complete her look with trendsetting perfection. It’s not always easy to be a trendsetter in a world that constantly dictates what the trends are (and that usually entails uber expensive shoes), but finding independent labels, such as Jai B. Couture, which retails for $60 to $140 makes it not only easy, but affordable.
Jai B. Couture’s footwear collection is full of flats, pumps, platforms and wedges that are crafted with matured suedes, Italian leathers and paved wooden heels to create a look that is refined, classic and “in the now” stylish. Each shoe is meant to compliment an outfit and create a look that is worthy of many onlookers’ attention, for the bold girl on the go that is never afraid to make a statement and try something new, and of course, wants to keep her wallet happy.

Most well known shoe designers hail from Europe, but South Korea has its own shoe-making superstar in designer Jinny Kim. Studying design in Seoul, and then rooting herself in the fashion world as an assistant editor at Vogue Korea, Jinny Kim moved to New York to pursue her American dreams at FIT.
After various stints in the fashion industry, Jinny Kim decided to move back to her hometown to learn the craft of handmade shoes from the many skilled artisans and factories there, a little known fact. The combination of education that she learned from them alongside her passion to create fabulous, wearable shoes for women at affordable prices landed her with her first namesake collection which launched in 2006. For her, reasonably priced footwear didn’t resonate with a cheap look, but rather she has worked to create shoes that are not only unique, but also sophisticated in their design. Jinny Kim saw a hole in the footwear industry, and conquered it with shoes that were both stunning to the eye and comfortable for the wearer.
Jinny Kim finds her inspiration from the stars of the Golden Age of Hollywood. Each shoe is handcrafted with a spin of a modern vintage feel. She uses bold colors like emerald green and royal purple, refined architecture and intricate detailing making shoes that are a fresh addition to the footwear industry. In 3 short years, Jinny Kim has gained popularity and amazing reviews from media and consumers alike in Asia. However, her brand is quickly gaining popularity stateside, with her shoes being stocked in shoe haven Diavolina and Revolve Clothing, to name a few. Jinny Kim’s shoe collection Jinny Kim Hollywood, is the perfect marriage between her hometown roots of South Korea in their craftsmanship and her love of Old Hollywood with the glamour and vintage decadence that it represents.

We at POSHGLAM are all about the fresh talent. Don’t get us wrong-we love our big-name designers. But you just can’t deny the thrill you get from wearing and supporting a unique piece from the next big thing. Speaking of “the next big thing,” get familiar with newbie footwear designer Sophie Gittins. Taking inspiration from the Austrian visual arts movement Weiner Werkstatte, the British designer imbues her towering heels-each design named for a member of the movement-with clean silhouettes and sharp geometric prints-from the green silk and black velvet ikat-print peep-toe booties to the gray suede Peche heel accented with shark’s tooth-like black triangles. With just one collection under her belt-A/W ‘09-Gittins is already generating plenty of buzz from the fashion community. Not bad for the new kid in town.
