The New It Bags | Jack Rabbit Collection

By Jessica

From the fringed clutch to the plunging hobo, Jack Rabbit Collection Bags crossbreed timeless style and boundless innovation. The time-honored aesthetic could rival the work of established bag designers yet chic flourishes, like graceful ruching, are refreshingly original.

Handmade in Los Angeles by a family of artisans, each bag of the Jack Rabbit Collection embodies the designer, Mollie Culligan’s masterful command of structure and style. Made in supple Italian leather, the bags marry geometric composition with sleek subtlety.

An element of daring distinguishes Jack Rabbit Collection from the design elite. Where established designers rely on a fixed fashion aesthetic, Culligan envisages minimalist styles peppered with artful flourishes that venture onward toward the future of design.

With a masculine simplicity juxtaposed with a feminine edge, Jack Rabbit Collection bags embrace the novelty of invention with a deferential nod toward conventional luxury. Women who value tradition as much as modernity will appreciate Mollie Culligan’s ability to remain fixed on the leading edge of the new and the next.

Honored with the Gen Art Fresh Faces in Fashion Award and the International Design Award for Handbags, Culligan has gained celebrity fans in Drew Barrymore, Kate Moss, Agyness Deyn and Scarlett Johansson.

In stores now, holiday attire by Kate Moss for Topshop

By Sophie

-1-2

There is a buzz on the streets of New York, and it all has to do with who is snatching up the Christmas 09 gear designed by Kate Moss for Topshop. Flouncy dresses and Asian-inspired accessories abound.

A current favorite is the Kate Moss Pleated Kimono Dress ($160). With an apparent indie flavor, the red panels and kimono-cut top are great over a thick pair of black tights and boots. For evening, stilettos will do just fine.

Another great dress is the Jubille Dress With Gold Rope ($210). Also with an Asian flair, this dress gives structure and pizzazz to a simple A-line cut. The gold embelishment is particularly nice for the holidays.

For purchasing information or to see other Kate Moss Christmas 09 items, visit Topshop.com.

Wrap Yourself in Softness

By Zoe
Madeleine Thompson

Madeleine Thompson

If you’re on the East Coast, you may be wondering just what happened to Fall. Indeed it seems like I’m saying bonjour to my ankle length parka a little too soon, however there is a silver lining to our unfavorably early dip in the mercury—Madeleine Thompson’s cashmere sweater line.

A graduate of London’s Durham University, Thompson returned to Hong Kong in 2002 as a buyer for Lane Crawford, one of the worlds’s leading retailers. She launched a jewelry collection two years later and then evolved to knitwear and sweaters in 2007.

The knit maven’s line is causal, feminine and far from boring. The sweaters can be easily paired with dark denim or chill pants and they won’t look shleppy—because they’re that versatile with flattering greys, strips and vests. Her 2009 collection includes funky beanies, chic button-less cardigans and thick chunky knit scarves.

“The materials are very important to me,” she says. “I like to experiment with different textures, as they reflect the light in various ways. Another factor is how the pieces feel against the skin.”

Celebs like Kate Moss, Renee Zellweger and Sienna Miller all have the cashmere connection. Thompson’s line is available at Barney’s NY, Otte, Lux Couture, Les Nouvelles, and others.

Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2010

By Faith

Stefano Pilati showed a beautifully tailored collection for Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2010. The collection touched upon many different styles from urban and aggressive with leather to free flowing and rustic with an oversized white peasant blouse.

Pilati used his expert tailoring skills for Spring and showed a large variety of silhouettes. Dresses ranged from above the knee blue sheaths belted at the waist to long white shirtdresses cascading the floor. Pants were shown, high-waisted and free flowing and bermuda shorts were shown in neutrals of grey, black, and white, with a pair even being shown in leather. Skirts ranged from a white peasant skirt with embroidered flowers, to a khaki high-waisted pencil skirt, to a leather skirt fit for a night out on the town. The color palette of the collection was very dark only occasionally referencing color.

For beauty, the models had almost bare faces with their hair slicked back in buns by a headband. The shoes of the collection were great: white gladiator heels which fit well with each look.

Supporters of YSL came out to show their love for the brand. Guests included long-time muse to Yves Saint Laurent, Loulou de la Falaise, as well as famed musician, Prince and supermodels Kate Moss and Claudia Schiffer.

Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2010 is for the venturesome woman with a versatile wardrobe. More highlights from the show below (courtesy of WWD).

By Kimberly

anlo
anlo2When Jenna Andreola and David Lonstein (“An” and “Lo” respectively) started Anlo, they set out to fill a void in the denim market. The designers wanted to create a chic, sophisticated jean. They wanted to make dressier denim that complimented other items in a woman’s wardrobe, as well as fun, easy to wear fashion pieces. The denim collection features a fresh take on traditional denim bodies as well as a wide selection of cutting edge styles. The brand has received praise for its universal fit and innovative designs. Most recently, Anlo launched a collection of silk dresses and tops, along with maternity denim.

Anlo’s celebrity fans include Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Kelly Ripa, Heidi Klum, Leighton Meester, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian, Marcia Cross and many others.

Daily Shrine | Kate Moss

By Kimberly

Why Kate Moss you ask? Why not? Everyone else is using her! Kate is such a ham, with over 300 mag covers to date, she is most deserving. At her measly height of 5′7 she has been voted one of the most successful supermodels in history, making over 9million a year. “Moss was discovered in 1988 at the age of 14 by Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Model Management, at JFK Airport in New York City, after a holiday in Jamaica. Moss’s career began when Corinne Day shot black and white photographs of her, styled by Melanie Ward, for British magazine The Face when she was 15, in a photo shoot titled “The Third Summer of Love”. Moss then went on to become the “anti-supermodel” of the 1990s in contrast to the “supermodels” of the moment, such as Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, and Naomi Campbell, who were known for their curvaceous and tall figures.”(Wikipedia) Her career is still soaring and she’s well into her thirties.  This daily shrine goes to Kate Moss, for Top Shop, Yurman and many more to before!
