London's Kimiko Red Shows the Leather Love

By Kimberly

A mammoth London shopping excursion this weekend turned up a promising new label to obsess over: Kimiko Red. Designer Kim Heidi Lewis, owner of the recently opened vintage designer boutique King & Queen of Bethnal Green, creates amazing limited-edition leather pieces that can be made to order. Think buttery-soft leather jackets with dramatic shoulders, fierce lizard-skin ankle boots, and a fetching brown leather vest that would work fabulously over a tank. PETA may not approve, but we think every modern gal could do with some leather in her wardrobe. And what’s better than having a one-of-a-kind piece that nobody else can get their hands on? We say: nothing.

Going Glam with Goldie London

By Kimberly

London girls make a beeline for the Goldie London stall at the city’s famed Spitalfields Market, but stateside stylephiles needn’t call their travel agent to get their hands on the label’s feminine frocks and jewelry; the goodies can be found online at PretaPortobello.com. Ultra-girly and romantic but with an underlying gothic edge, designer Michelle Goldie’s creations include sheer and sexy pom pom dresses (a favorite of celebrity fan Mischa Barton); tiered baby-doll frocks in dusty rose or dove gray; and blousy tops adorned with bows and lace. Everything is thigh-skimming, so pair the pieces with skinny jeans, tights, or leggings and add some killer booties for a dreamy look with a dash of downtown cool. And don’t forget your baubles—Goldie’s jewelry collection includes chunky charm bracelets and dainty strings of pearls thrown together with gems and skull charms. It’s sugar and spice and everything nice—just like us.
