Sparkle like a Londonite with Giles Deacon
By Sophie
Hailing from good ol’ London, Giles Deacon has shaken the runways for the past few seasons. Joining the likes of Alexander McQueen and other forward-thinking Englishmen, Deacon’s Spring 2010 collection does little to bore the buyer.
Short-hemmed frocks in bright colors are enough to pull anyone out of their 2009 recession funk. The utterly feminine flats and sunglasses are a bizarre throw-back to the 1960s.
Yet another interesting feature is the usage of metallics– in pants, dresses and footwear. Deacon’s looks are is funky Londonite meets New York fashion, all in one.

In stores now, holiday attire by Kate Moss for Topshop
By Sophie

There is a buzz on the streets of New York, and it all has to do with who is snatching up the Christmas 09 gear designed by Kate Moss for Topshop. Flouncy dresses and Asian-inspired accessories abound.
A current favorite is the Kate Moss Pleated Kimono Dress ($160). With an apparent indie flavor, the red panels and kimono-cut top are great over a thick pair of black tights and boots. For evening, stilettos will do just fine.
Another great dress is the Jubille Dress With Gold Rope ($210). Also with an Asian flair, this dress gives structure and pizzazz to a simple A-line cut. The gold embelishment is particularly nice for the holidays.
For purchasing information or to see other Kate Moss Christmas 09 items, visit Topshop.com.

Look posh in the Victoria Beckham collection
By Sophie
Well Posh has done it again. The last time she shocked us, she was on stage in pleather and flatforms. Now, she has taken over a new stage- the runway. With her latest collection, Victoria Beckham has redone the simple little black dress as well as jazzed up denim and accessories.
Look number 28 in her collection is the Gabriel dress. Exquisit is the only word that comes to mind, with a one-shouldered long sleeve and chenille embroidery. Black is definitely the new black, and this look could be done for a number of occassions, not excluding upcoming holiday fêtes and benefits.
Another great piece is, again, black redone. Look number 21 is the Fontaine dress. Made of stretch felt, it also includes sleeves. We saw sleeves in the sketch books of many designers last spring and they do not disappoint. These sleeves are refreshingly edgy and more than welcome during the upcoming winter months.
For purchasing information, visit VictoriaBeckham.com; costs range from £920 to £4,990, or $500 to $8,300.

A Storybook Collection: Nonoo Lyons Fall/Winter
By Ariella
Wouldn’t it be fun to dress up like the heroine from your favorite classic novel? Madame Bovary, Marie Antoinette, Jane Eyre – all badass ladies in their own right, and they probably had killer style to boot! Nonoo Lyons‘ debut collection for Fall/Winter ’09 draws inspiration from the timeless elegance of our favorite literary femme-fatales, while incorporating a uniquely modern twist.
Nonoo Lyons is the brainchild of London-born design duo Misha Nonoo and Deborah Lyons. Both international fashionistas followed their design dreams around Europe, including Paris, London, and Florence, eventually landing in The Big Apple. Lyons and Nonoo’s international quality definitely shows through in their work. Their new collection blends luxurious European fabrics with exquisite Manhattan tailoring seamlessly. The Fall/Winter collection features a bevy of fine French and Italian tweeds, silks, cashmeres, and wools, and focuses on strong shoulders, waterfall draping, and handpainted finishing. A sweet surprise is the signature silk lining, which features smoke illustration by fine-art-trained Lyons. “Our intention is to answer our generations desire to return to the use of noble materials, quality craftsmanship, and honest prices by taking classic wardrobe staples and adding our own unique twists, ” says Misha Nonoo.
The combination of timeless, feminine touches with daring cool is sure to put this brand down in history. Take that, Anna Karenina!
