Lara Bohinc Expands Collection to Shoes, Women Rejoice

By Samantha

Lara Bohinc has long been a leader in European based leather luxury goods. Now, in a downtrodden economy, she decided to give women what they want most: fabulous shoes.

For Spring/Summer 2010, Bohinc created two shoe collections named Eclipse and Seventh Seal, inspired by her jewelry and handbag collections of the same name. The launch of footwear has culminated the expansion of Lara Bohinc’s luxury leather goods offerings.

The shoes are exquisite, designed to provide the perfect finale to any glam outfit. Lara Bohinc’s footwear collections are ideal for shoe addicts that rejoice in creating trends, and wearing something new.

The Eclipse collection consists of three styles, which were all inspired by the designer’s Lunar Eclipse Bag. These shoes have a unique aesthetic in their curved architecture juxtaposed with straight linear design. The shoes are available in python, goat leather, patent leather and suede. They are available in a variety of colors, which are all luxe yet subdued.

The After the Seventh Seal shoe collection encompasses two styles: both a platform and a serious rocker edge. Both styles are available in black goat with brass chains with a sandal and bootie version.

The shoes in Bohinc’s collections are the definition of elegance meeting edge. Each has a fashion forward, of-the-minute look, but remains totally classic.

The prices of the shoes range from $700 to $1,050, which is steep for the times but worth the investment. They are currently available exclusively at Harvey Nichols’ locations and will hit stores worldwide in May 2010.

Win this luxurious “Maddie” Headband from Love, LuluMae!

Love, Lulu Mae is a Chicago-based line of luxury accessories entirely hand-crafted from antique jewels, vintage fabrics and exotic feathers by designer Agnes B. Miles. This line invites all of today’s women of style to experience a piece of vintage glamour in their modern life.  Love, Lulu Mae has garnered attention from celebrities such as Gwen Stefani, LA INK’s Hannah Aitchison, stylist-to-the-stars Laurent Dufourg (whose clients include Paris Hilton and Teri Hatcher) and musician Kid Sister.  Creating a media stir, Time Out Chicago describes Love, Lulu Mae as “one-of-a-kind head pieces,” while Chicago Fashion Magazine states “the hottest trend to look for in the fall”.

Inspired by the strength and impeccably elegant style of the women of the 1930’s and 1940’s, Agnes models every piece she designs and creates after them. To her it is more than just vintage, it is a style of an era that represented a turning point for women and what they were capable of. These ladies worked hard but never sacrificed their sense of style and panache. Agnes strives for today’s woman to be able to embody and express that same combination of strength and feminine style.

Lucky for you POSHGLAM gals, Love, Lulu Mae is giving away their magnificent “Maddie” headband (retail value $125, pictured below!). For this giveaway, you ladies need to dig up your inner poetess and write a haiku about what fashion means to you! Simple enough, right? After all, a haiku is only three lines.

Submit your lovely haikus to PR@lovelulumae.com. The contest ends Thursday, August 21st - so be creative and “take the road less traveled by!”  And all that other good poetry stuff.

RMS Beauty

By Leah

RMSuncoverRMS Beauty A.K.A. Real Make-up Secrets is what’s fresh in the organic cosmetics space. Think a solid solution for a line of pure products that won’t clog pores, put simply makeup sans all the crap. Rose-Marie Swift is the brain behind the brand who totes nearly 20 years of experience as a celebrity make-up artist. So what’s unique about RMS Beauty? First off it literally contains non-toxic ingredients—translation—products are made with raw organic ingredients in their purest form so the essential vitamins and nutrients needed to nourish skin are intact. Second, Swift is the creator behind the end all be all facts on beauty, at beautytruth.com, its apparent she has a handle on real makeup. And lastly, RMS Beauty is kind to mother earth with use of recyclable glass packaging.

The product that hooked us, the ‘un’ cover-up ($36), conceals and hides blemishes, spots, etc., and heals skin while doing so. Think that’s neat. It’s literally undetectable, that even your boy pal (friend or roomie) can use it.
