Beyoncé ‘Heats’ Up NYC for Fragrance Launch
By Jessica
International pop sensation, Beyoncé, conquers every field she steps her Christian Louboutin stiletto in. Music? She’s a seven-time Grammy award winner who was recently named Billboard’s Woman of the Year. Fashion? Her House of Dereon line has quickly become a force in the Fashion industry. Film? Beyonce garnered two Golden Globes nominations for Dreamgirls and scored a box-office hit with Obsessed. Now, the multi-talented diva has set her sights on the beauty industry with her first-ever fragrance, entitled “Heat.”
Licensed by Coty, Beyoncé’s premiere fragrance embodies her unbridled passion and alluring sexuality. A floral, fruity and wooden scent, ‘Heat’ is a captivating blend of rare, sensual flowers. The fragrance contains top notes of red vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli and blush peach, heart notes of honeysuckle nectar, almond macaroon and crème de musk as well as base notes of giant sequoia milkwood, tonka bean and amber.
The beautiful songstress had this to say about her first
fragrance: “My fragrance is a unique expression of a women’s powerful sensuality. The scent thrills and enthralls, drawing you in. At the same time, it is elegant and feminine with an air of mystery. I created this fragrance for self-assured women everywhere, for women who are not afraid to desire and be desired.”
To kick off the launch of ‘Heat,’ Beyoncé will illuminate Union Square on February 2nd with a fiery red light and smoky fog, giving the city an aura that matches her irresistible appeal.
On February 3rd, she will make a personal appearance at Macy’s Herald Square, where the first customers to purchase the Beyoncé Heat 3-piece fragrance set will get the chance to meet and pose for a picture with the pop culture icon.
The Eau de parfum is $39 for 1 oz.; $49 for 1.7 oz and $59 for 3.4 oz. The Gold Sparkling Body Lotion retails for $24.
‘Heat’ will be available at Macy’s in February and in Europe, Middle East, Far East and Australia by August.

DRD was seen on the likes of Jessica Alba and was once “endorsed” by The Hills’ Audrina Partridge (and worn almost daily by Lauren Conrad), but I guess Audrina just got way too busy thinking about just what she’ll say to Justin on that lonely pier.

Kim Parker Home Designs
By Michelle
Kim Parker has been able to parlay her popular floral paintings into home style, as her unique artistic look is contagious to all that come across it. Parker has seen a fair amount of success and acclaim in the past several years. However, the real success may be rising up against the odds in the very competitive world of interior design— especially with no formal design training to speak of.
Parker left behind a promising career as a classical flutist and launched her home brand in 2001. Since then she has been on a steady rise of popularity and in high demand. Parker has worked with Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s and became a bestseller, the first designer brand to achieve bestseller status in the retailer’s bedding department. The Kim Parker Home Collection includes designer rugs, dinnerware, giftware, bedding, bath, fabrics, decorative pillows, stationery and wall art.
Parker’s style is stand-alone with vibrant signature colors that can make any drab room into a delightful garden. It is no surprise that Parker says, “Designing is a very joyful process for me. I love working with rich and exuberant hues, whether for a rug, a pillow, a dinner plate, bedding collection, or canvas. When I design anything, it’s a very organic and free exploration.”
Frida’s garden pillow retails for $180 at KimParker.tv, the Orange Dahlias print retails for $40 at Art.com, and the bestselling, iconic and design winning rug “Mums and Asters” starts at $2500 and is sold exclusively at The Rug Company in Los Angeles at 8202 Melrose Avenue. For other Rug Company locations throughout the world please visit TheRugCompany.com or for more information about Kim Parker you can visit KimParker.tv.
