OmniPeace Proves Fashion Saves Lives
By Leah
Los Angeles based fashion brand, OmniPeace is proving fashion can save lives. Indeed it can, with the tenacity of OmniPeace’s founder, Mary Fanaro. After a trip to see some of the poorest places on earth and watching Live 8, Fanaro knew it was in her cards to assist others. Alongside the help of visionary economist Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, and several celebrities Fanaro is a pioneer in fusing fashion and philanthropy.
In June 2007 OmniPeace launched its first product; a t-shirt line created by Signorelli. What soon followed …bracelets, bags, and other fun accessories, are the back-end reason for Fanaro’s success. OmniPeace donates 25% of its profits to efforts in promoting peace and education and to terminate poverty in Africa by 2025. To date OmniPeace has gathered over half a million dollars for charity. Burgeoning with celebrity fans, some of which include: Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Costner, David Beckham and Courteney Cox, there is certainly a hot buzz going on to help save the world we live in.
