Fall 2010 Heart Truth Red Dress Collection, Jessica Met Reggie Bush

By Jessica

“You gotta have heart.” That was the message at the Fall 2010 Heart Truth Red Dress Collection show, one that I look forward to every season!

The cause is as beautiful as the fashions: to raise awareness about heart disease, the #1 killer of women. Visit www.hearttruth.gov for
more information about the disease and what you can do to help! The fact that celebrities lent their star power to such a noble cause made the night even more positive.

Rewind to the beginning. After rushing to our third row seats right before the show started, my girlfriend and I were pleased to see my crush, Reggie Bush, seated in the front row, literally seconds away. To my friend’s horror and utter dismay, I had to go introduce myself. I mean, I was only singing his praises on POSHGLAM last week.

I went to say Hi and Congratulate him on the huge Superbowl win! I was pleased to discover that Reggie is kind and gracious, the perfect gentleman. He even posed for a picture (see below). All thoughts that I may be closer to that wedding were dashed when I realized he was there to support his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian. (I’m totally kidding! They’re cute together and I’m completely happy for them).

Though Reggie Bush caused quite a stir (someone behind me asked, “Is that 50 Cent?”), once the show started, all eyes were on the celebrity models.

And what a sight to see! Underneath chandeliers and with an adorable red and white set in the background, celebs stormed the catwalk in support of heart disease awareness.

Reality star, Bethenny Frankel, was an adorable, pregnant lady in Isabella Oliver.

Desperate Housewives actress, Felicity Huffman, walked out in Oscar de la Renta and took a moment to hug her husband, who was cheering her on in the front row.

Singer and new jewelry designer, Estelle, worked the catwalk in a lovely Zac Posen gown. Her purple eye make-up, courtesy of celebrity artist, A.J. Crimson, was the perfect accent.

The legendary actress, Joan Collins, walked out to applause in Stephanie Rolland.

Crooner, Jordin Sparks of American Idol fame showed off a svelte figure in a form-fitting Badgley Mischka gown.

The one-and-only Kim Kardashian was a radiant beauty in a Marchesa gown that showed off her famous curves. She worked it on the runway, stopping long enough to blow a kiss to Reggie in the front row.

Kimora Lee stormed the catwalk in a short, embellished dress from her new line, Kouture by Kimora.

Raven-Symone was the ultimate runway diva in Tadashi Shoji, even kicking off her shoes before making a dramatic exit to backstage.

The lovely actress, Regina King, sashayed down the runway in a one-shoulder Tracy Reese dress to to Alicia Keys’ “Put it in a Love Song.”

Newscaster, Robin Roberts walked out to thunderous applause in a  J.Crew Collection gown that highlighted her toned upper body.

Heart Truth Red Dress Collection fixture, Heidi Klum, stole the show in a gorgeous John Galliano gown. She’s even more beautiful in person!

After the runway show, I had the pleasure of meeting Robert Verdi and Micah Jesse, whose blog made our Top 25 list last year. I even got to see Wendy Williams, my favorite radio jock turned TV show host. The fun-filled fashion show was the perfect end to Day 1 of Fashion Week. Stay tuned for more insider coverage.

POSHGLAM's Best Dressed at the Golden Globes

By Samantha

I’m not sure what was more exciting about this year’s Golden Globes: watching the starlets prance down the red carpet, or learning of Joan River’s return to it. Either way, the 2010 Golden Globes brought an array of colorful gowns and no real misses. All in all, everyone looked fabulous but of course, we couldn’t help but pick favorites.

Two of our favorite “Friends” were there, and while dressed black, these ladies looked anything but basic. Courteney Cox looked like a true cougar in her Victoria Beckham dress and Jimmy Choo “Zena” sandals and “Tube” clutch. Jennifer Aniston looked jaw-dropping as she presented in a Valentino dress, Versace heels and Fred Leighton jewels.

Julia Roberts, a personal favorite and no stranger to the red carpet looked super chic in a vintage Yves Saint Laurent frock and a statement necklace from Van Cleef and Arpels. Olivia Wilde made her black look dazzle in a gown by Gucci, Jimmy Choo “Zena” sandals (same as Cox), jewels by Tiffany and Co., and a Judith Leiber clutch. We’re even more excited that Wilde is donating her dress to be auctioned off in a benefit for Haiti. Visit ArtistsforPeaceandJustice.com for more information.

Newcomer Lea Michelle looked like a real princess in an Oscar de la Renta number complimented with Chopard jewels, a Fendi bag and Christian Louboutin heels. Black has never been less boring.

White also made a big foray on the red carpet. Kate Hudson looked refined and classic in a Marchesa gown and Stephen Russell bracelet. Starlet Kristen Bell opted for a shorter number with her Jasmine di Milo dress, which she accessorized with a Judith Leiber clutch, Van Cleef and Arpels jewels and Christian Louboutin heels. Calista Flockhart, who I miss seeing on the carpet, channeled a vintage vibe in her Alberta Ferretti dress and Judith Leiber clutch. Jaime Pressly made her light shade metallic and stunned in a Kevan Hall dress and Lauren Merkin clutch.

There were quite a few starlet who dazzled in bold colors on the carpet. These are usually my favorite, and it is even better when the colors are on celebrities that you would not expect. Cameron Diaz defined bold in a stunning Alexander McQueen dress, Roger Vivier clutch, Ferragamo pumps and a vintage Van Cleef and Arpels rope bracelet. Big winner of the night, Sandra Bullock, looked like an iconic movie star in her Bottega Veneta gown and clutch with sky-high Casadei shoes. Fashionista Zoe Saldana chose a fab berry colored hue in her Louis Vuitton dress and Brian Atwood shoes.

Another big trend at the Golden Globes was golden dresses, which makes sense given the occasion. If only there was better weather, the gold would have really been able to shine in the January sunlight. Hollywood’s darling, Drew Barrymore, another winner, channeled old Hollywood glamour in an Atelier Versace gown coupled with Jimmy Choo “Zena” sandals, a Roger Vivier clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. “House” hottie Jennifer Morrison looked graceful in a Luis Antonio dress, Judith Leiber clutch and Martin Katt baubles. Her red lips were the perfect compliment. Another winner of the night, Mo’Nique looked just as golden and beautiful as her statue. Nicole Kidman rocked the red carpet in a dress by Nina Ricci and Fred Leighton jewels. These ladies proved that gold is always in style, and really can look good on anyone.

Not far off from the above spectrum, there were quite a few pink and grey hued dresses that wowed on the red carpet. It may have been raining in Los Angeles, but these ladies are definitely ready for spring-time to roll around and showcased some trends that we are sure to be seeing more often. Emily Blunt looked feminine, fresh and fantastic in a Dolce and Gabbana dress, Jimmy Choo “Quinze” booties and a Ferragamo miniaudiere. One of our favorite celebrity moms looked stunning in an Atelier Versace dress, Judith Leiber clutch and Bulgari jewels giving us a newfound love for grey. Maggie Gyllenhaal spiced up the red carpet in a RM by Roland Mouret “Sirens” mermaid gown, Prada shoes and Bulgari jewelry.

No Golden Globes is complete without Miss Golden Globe. This year, the honor was given to Hollywood celebrity Alfre Woodard’s daughter Mavis Spencer. The two posed together for a picturesque look in berry shades. Woodard chose a purple gown with Jimmy Choo “Perfume” sandals, while her daughter opted for something peachier. Miss Golden Globe and her mother looked absolutely phenomenal, and closed the gap between Hollywood icons and starlets. The Golden Globes were definitely a fashion hit this year, despite the rain. Stay tuned for more red carpet coverage, after all, the Academy Awards are just around the corner.

Casual Luxury | Moises de la Renta for Mango

By Jessica

Most people would shy away from designing if their father was one of the most recognizable names in Fashion. Not Moises de la Renta. The adopted son of Fashion legend, Oscar de la Renta, Moises is boldly carving his own path in the industry and making a name for himself in the process.

After interning with Oscar de la Renta and Phat Farm, the 25-year old designer launched his own clothing line, MDLR, to rave reviews. Ranging from a Swiss-dot hoodie to a biker jacket with removable sleeves, MDLR’s premiere collection (shown above) displayed elegance, exuberance and a dose of unstudied hipster cool. The excellent craftsmanship and modern point-of-view won de la Renta a bevy of famous fans, including Mrs. Michelle Obama, who wore his custom-made sheath to a White House function.

In a shrewd business move, de la Renta is uniting his luxurious aesthetic with the Spanish sportswear brand, Mango. The result? Relaxed tees adorned with opulent embellishments like stones, jewels and even tulle. “My inspiration for this collection were the traditional romantic themes: from pretty patchworks with summer flowers in somber colors, such as rose, violet, grey and black, to graphic illusions which combine transparent effects, with shiny gems and adornments in between,” said de la Renta.

Moises de la Renta’s limited edition collection for Mango ranges from $36-50 and launches on March 1, 2010.
