Manolo Blahnik Spring 2010

Any shoe aficionado loves and adores Mr. Manolo Blahnik. He is truly one of the most powerful people in the fashion industry today.
Manolo Blahnik is a pioneer in the footwear industry. He started making shoes in London in 1971 after he was given the push to do so by Diana Vreeland (then editor-in-chief of American Vogue). Ossie Clark was the first designer to use his designs and in 1973, Blahnik opened his first boutique in London’s Chelsea neighborhood.
Blahnik has been bestowed with countless awards from the CFDA and La Medalla de Oro en Merito en las Bellas Artes from his native Spain. We know him best today from the shoes he designed for Sofia Coppola’s, Marie Antoinette, and countless references to his pieces from Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City.
His Spring 2010 Collection pieces are truly works of art channeling inspiration from Hollywood starlets in the 1950s. The style to the right is named Dos: “This style was inspired by windows. I like to play with shapes you see everyday. Many things inspire me.”

Sex Sex and Double the Sex

Sex and the City 2 began filming today, the lovely starlettes and crew are ready to turn the big screen on AGAIN. As if I haven’t seen the first one enough, on with the fun, the fashion and the fucking. I can’t wait to see who Samantha beds and how Carrie and Big’s relationship pans out. Not to mention how they decorate the fabulous apartment he bought. My only problem with the whole charade is Carrie married a man named John, it was bad enough she got a courthouse hooker’s wedding, but why did his first name have to be JOHN? Did anyone else notice the symbolism? Maybe not. But I can’t wait to see the wardrobes and drama matched with the over the top personalities. Our favorite Sex Columnist is at it again and Mrs. Carrie Bradshaw is sure to keep us wanting more of the goody goodness.
