Denim lovers rejoice for the Queen has returned. Vivienne Westwood is collaborating with famed denim brand, Lee Jeans, for a capsule collection featuring five styles for women and four for men. The Vivienne Westwood Anglomania and Lee Jeans collection takes inspiration from Westwood’s punk and pirate collections of the 1970s and 1980s as well as all the amazing concepts she has developed to date. Along with Lee’s denim knowhow, the collection is sure to be smashing.
Pieces for women include a skinny fit jean for all the punks and fashion-minded heads, a boyfriend fit pair for those looking to keep it casual, and short-shorts for the girls who like to play. Men’s styles include a skinny style, a pair of “bondage” jeans, an oversized pair, and a classic fit so that no man feels left out. Washes of all kinds will be featured from vintage and distressed, to indigos and blacks as well as out of this world dyed denim in electric blue, red, emerald green, and gold. Options for both non-stretch and stretch are available.
Managing Director of Vivienne Westwood, Carlo D’Amario, is thrilled about the collaboration: “It is very important for us to work with a denim brand like Lee with such a strong heritage. When you marry this with the creativity of Vivienne Westwood, you are able to create a truly original product which offers great value for money.”
The collection will hit Vivienne Westwood stores and select retailers worldwide later this year.
Though images of the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania and Lee collection haven’t been released yet, you can get your Westwood fix now with these pictures from her Spring 2010 Gold Collection, ‘Planet Gaia.” The Gaia Theory, named after the Greek goddess of Earth, is an ecological theory stating that all Earth’s components are unified. The collection’s slogan: “Act fast, slow down, stop climate change”. Saving the earth one fashionable step at a time. Images courtesy of Style.com.
